My old neighbor needs to kick her good for nothing son out of the house. But she scared.?
My old neighbor is like a second mom to me. She has a son (only child) who is 54 years old and has not worked in decades. I found out years ago that he has been living off of their retirement income for the past 20 years. He had an apartment, and they paid for that, his car, phone, food, cable, clothes... basically everything. This loser in turn could not even come over and cut the grass, or lift a finger for them yet they still paid his bills. in fact they had to wait for him to give them the bill before it would get paid and he could not even manage to do that.
Long story short.. He was evicted from his apartment because of his behavior. His parents, didnt know what else to do and invited him into the house. got him a job under the pretense that once he gets an established income, he can go get his own apartment (without them co-signing this time). since he has been in the house he drinks, gets angry, shouts and screams at them. She is afraid of asking him to leave because she is worried what he might do. Im not sure what to tell her at this point.. other than I told you so because i did warn about that before they took him in.. What should I say to her (them)?
10 AnswersLaw & Ethics4 years agoIs there a resource where I can find out how much force is required to dig into different types of earth.?
Obviously this number would change based on the type of earth you are trying to dig, sand, peat, topsoil, clay etc. There has to be some sort of reference to know these numbers!
2 AnswersEarth Sciences & Geology4 years agoProblems with 2000 Ford Explorer Front End Driveline (Locking up)?
Details: 2000 For Explorer, 4.0 SOHC V6, 4WD, Automatic,
Intermittent problem
Symptom: Left front wheel occasionally locks when backing up and it puts a lot of force on the suspension on that side. It happens more when you have the steering wheel turned slightly. It sometimes will occur moving forward at low speeds while being in a slight turn. Never does it at high speeds. When it does happen you can hear a sound like a dry shaft chattering in a bushing. Vehicle has new wheel bearings and brakes. CV joints seem to be ok visually and appeared fine when I did the bearings.
Does anyone know if there were any common problems with the 2000 Explorer front end that might sound like this problem? Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks

2 AnswersOther - Social Science1 decade agoDC to AC converter synchronization with power grid.?
I have designed a simple circuit for converting 48 VDC to 120 VAC, but the one thing I am having brain lock on is how to ensure the that AC wave of my converter output is synchronized with the AC wave of my utilities power grid. anyone have a suggestion?
It would seem that i would have to sample the AC sinwave of the grid and somehow use that to trigger an exciter circuit of some sort?
3 AnswersEngineering1 decade agoIs it just me or has anyone else noticed that the war in Iraq is not covered by the media as much anymore?
Sure you hear occasionally about a bombing here and there but nowhere near what we used to get.
Is it that there just isnt as much gorey happenings over there? no good stories.. is it just routine now.. nothing to get the ratings up? What do you think?

1 AnswerEngineering1 decade agoButter vs Margarine (is margarine really bad for you?)?
A dear friend of mine has been telling me that margarine is really bad for you. She said that Margarine is:
Very high in trans fatty acids.
Triples risk of coronary heart disease.
Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol)
Lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)
Increases the risk of cancers up to five fold.
Lowers quality of breast milk.
Decreases immune response.
Decreases insulin response.
But most of all its like one molecule away from plastic..
Is there any truth to this?
