If my inheritance next year will be more than the $1million exemption will I have to pay taxes on the entire amount of my inheritance or just the amount above the allowable limit?

My neighbor grows eucalyptus tree on my side of yard. His side doesn't have any space to grow big tree. He doesn't want to remove it and we can't do anything because it's leaning and is unstable. If we trim it and it falls we would be responsible. We decided we have to protect our yard at all cost and decided to plant a leyland cypress under the canopy of the other tree. What would happen to leyland when it reaches the eucalyptus? Would the eucalyptus move? Could we force the neigbor to remove his tree if we had ours? Could we sue him if our tree dies? Do I have a right to have my own tree? I live in California. Help!!!

Neighbour's tree is leaning over the fence into my yard. It's a big tree and it is growing pretty much on our side only. Including the upper portion of the trunk. That's about 2/3 of his trunk growing over our yard. He has only one branch there that grows straight up and the bottom part of the trunk plus roots. We asked him to remove it. He refuses. We can't remove it, and can't trim it because it's unstable, and we can't make him do anything under California law. The tree doesn't have place to grow on his side because he has other trees there. We have no idea what to do. One branch leans toward our house but the trunk of the tree leans parallel to our house. If it falls it will probably damage yard/fence/pool/our vegetation but not the house. What are our options? We live in California where irresponsible homeowners are protected species.

The school just started and my daughter already bought three lunches for her new friend. The friend forgets to bring her lunch to school and never has any money to buy one. We know that the low income people can get free or subsidized lunches but the girl might not be poor. And my daughter feels sorry for her and pays for her lunches. I told her no more lunches for her friend but what if the girl is living in some kind of family that maybe doesn't buy enough food or parents just don't make lunch for her and she is hungry. Should I talk to somebody about it? We don't want to be responsible for feeding the kid but we also don't want her to starve. Any suggestions?

3 years ago my wife had a CAT scan and showed emphysema and stomach ulcer.

2 years ago she had another scan and it showed emphysema and diverticulitis.

1 year ago the scan showed diverticulitis and hernia.

This year the test shows hernia that was already removed but the emphysema and diverticulitis are no longer showing. The first two tests were done at different facility and except for the stomach ulcer and acid reflux she never had any other symptoms related to emphysema or diverticulitis.

Are the CAT scans reliable? Or it's just a miracle?

My daughter is a Girl Scout and she is the top seller in her troop in everything. She makes 10 times more than the rest of the group combined. She received incentives in the past but now the other girls decided to vote against incentives. Since she is the only one who earns them my daughter refuses to sell cookies. She wants to be a girl scout but she understands that in order to go on she cannot sell the amount of products she did in the past and receive nothing for it. She thinks of herself as loser. My wife contacted her leader and other leaders but they support the girls' decission. We are behind our daughter. Should we allow her to stay and sell next to nothing, ultimately not going on trips for the luck of money, or quit?

Somebody used my wife's credit card at different on-line stores. We disputed the charges with the credit card company but we called each of the on-line companies and informed them about the fraud charges. They have admitted someone opened accounts with their names and addresses but used my wife's credit card number. So her name popped up as the co-owner of the account. The companies closed the accounts and blacklisted my wife's name. Get it? They blacklisted the victim. The police doesn't want to investigate because the amount was very low, under $100, the credit company will not bother either because it is more expensive for them to investigate than the amount in question. We don't know if this was identity fraud or credit card fraud because the information about the criminal is protected by law. How can we get the information about the bad guy legally? And how can we find out if it was only credit card fraud or should we expect more of identity crises. The credit report is clean for now. Who can get information for us about the name and address of the person who used the card?

I just switched dentists because I've changed insurance. I brush my teeth regularly, floss, use mouthwash, waterpik. Except regular maintenance I've never needed any work. The new dentists said, I have periodontal disease and I need antibiotic therapy, scaling, rooth planning. I didn't say anything, I left his office and immediately went to another dentist to get second opinion. They did another X-ray and the second dentist said, my teeth are in perfect shape. Which one is telling the truth and which one is lying? My teeth are not bleeding, not hurting, my gums are nice pink color how can I tell if I have periodontal disease or not?

I did. It is a scam. It is a book on how to... The word "conversion" in mine means converting a car from fuel injection to carburator before installing the gadgets. I have no intention of doing so. Have any of you experimented with the hydrogen kit maybe using old car?

I bought my house when I was still single. The house is paid off. I put my mother as a joint owner. Few years later my mother moved in with me. After I got married I bought a house together with my wife on condition, we sell the previous one. After I moved out, my mother changed her mind and wouldn't sell the house. There was enough money for her to buy a new place but she didn't want to move. We need the money badly at this time and not only she doesn't want to sell the house or buy me out, she just took equity loan using the house as collateral and is gambling it away in Las Vegas. I would like to know if it's legal to give equity loan to one owner without the other knowing anything about it. After all I am on the title and this is my house as well. And my second question is how can I sell this house now. Thank you.
