Is he drinking again?
During W's most recent interview, he used the phrase: ". . . . . during I arrived as President." Is this man in trouble?
(I put this in Gov't / gov't, not politics, because this is not about putting the guy, but asking does he need help.)

Ann Coulter has her jaw wired shut.
Should we ask Congress to make this permanent?
10 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoDo we have the right to close the "after-porch"?
Recently Jewish leaders have withdrawn from negotiating with the Church of Latter Day Saints on the issue of "posthumous baptism by proxy", wherein a Mormon practice, that has gone on for more than a century, allows the baptism of a proxy standing in for a dead ancestor.
This appears to challenge the concept of free-will, in that individual, once dead, has little say in chosing and following religous beliefs.
A common way of describing this situation is to use the image of canvassing for souls done by many Evangelicals, in that they appear on many porches of private homes. Since the Mormons are doing this after the soul is departed, in the afterlife if you will, the term "after-porch" has been coined as a shorthand means of describing this practice, and the dynamics involved.

Will they shrink their support by turning the Grand Ole Party into the Grand Ole Opry? Do the numbers support such a strategy?
9 AnswersElections1 decade agoThe Q now is, with gov't being such a stake holder in the banks, will capitalism flourish? ?
Gov't has proved for centuries that it has little vision. The military fights the last war, gov't planning for disasters is non-existent or comes up pathetically short.
3 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoBachman's mouth beating the Republicans? ?
After Michele Bachman's (R- MN) appearance on Chris Matthews' show, a deluge of contributions came into her opponent, raising his donation total from $ 4K to $ 620 K since Friday nite. Powell's comments about her released a new round. So, is the McCain campaign right to keep Palin away from a mic (excepting SNL?)
8 AnswersElections1 decade agoObama's tax schedule would duplicate the Reagan Administration's. Is this proof that Reagan was a socialist?
I've long suspected that Reagan was pinker than any of us knew. Is he now (posthumously) outed?

6 AnswersElections1 decade agoIs McCain going to end up muddied, if his campaign starts slinging it?
Are not the economy, the Iraq War, energy or immigration real issues?
Doesn't this open up McCain's vulnerabilities and crooked or radical "pals": Keating Five, mob connections (thru Cindy's moneyed family). Also, John McCain sat on the board of a very right-wing organization. It was the U.S. Council for World Freedom. It was chaired by a guy named John Singlaub, who wound up involved in the Iran-Contra scandal. It was an ultraconservative right-wing group. The Anti-Defamation League, in 1981, when McCain was on the board, said this about this organization. It was affiliated with the World Anti-Communist League, the parent organization, which ADL said, “has increasingly become a gathering place, a forum, a point of contact for extremists, racists and Anti-Semites.”
3 AnswersElections1 decade agoIf Palin is saying that Obama is pals with terrorists. . . ?
should it be pointed out that she and her husband were members of an Alaskan secessionist group, which some would consider treason? Mr. O was 6 years old when Ayers did his thing; how old was Sarah when Todd and she did theirs?

9 AnswersElections1 decade agoThe real reason for the deblate?
Has anyone noticed McCain's left eye today? It appears both smaller and lower than the left. Has this guy had a stroke? His appearance on Letterman has also been canceled.

8 AnswersElections1 decade agoBy bashing McCain once again, have these sources finally revealed their far-left liberal nature?
The far left rag, THE WALL STREET JOURNAL, has once again bashed McCain, joking that McCain need not look far to find much of the source of the Wall Street disaster: He can pull over the bus and interview his lobbyist-laden staff. PLEASE, WSJ, we know that McCain should not stop the STE!!!

Also, that socialist-in-sheep's-clothing, George Will, has dared to criticize McCain, asking whether he has the temperament to be president. He should go back to writing baseball history!!

Republicans, this is the time to attack these discredited, far-left radical sources, and call them what they are.
11 AnswersElections1 decade agoHow will the $ 0.7 trillion will be used?
Paulson / Bush are asking for 700 billion. That is ~ 9 AIG bailouts. Will there be a public disclosure of what firms, how much, etc., prior to approval?
. . . . . and will that be the end of it?
Does anyone feel that this might be a ploy to cripple the next Pr, by pre-spending all discretionary funds, prior to the election?
6 AnswersElections1 decade agoHas McCain done us a favor?
. . . . . by showing signs of dementia before the election?
“The thought of his being president sends a cold chill down my spine,” Sen. Thad Cochran (R-Miss.), also a senior member of the Appropriations panel, told the Boston Globe recently. “He is erratic. He is hotheaded. He loses his temper and he worries me.”

9 AnswersElections1 decade agoTake it from an expert?
Karl Rove wasn't annoyed with McCain for lying but rather for his amateur way of doing so. Rove prefers lies within the deniable range -- the more of them the better. From a Rovian perspective, McCain went long when he should have gone wide, and often.
Is it surprising that McCain, who died a "death of a thousand cuts" at the hands of Bush in 2000, hasn't learned this?
