I want something that will motivate me to keep going!

I want to buy a Dell Inspiron 15.4" laptop, which I will use to download music, watch movies, and for basic academic applications (Microsoft Word, etc.). I am wondering what I should be looking for in terms of the processor, hard drive, and memory. I am also open to suggestions for other laptop brands or models. Thanks!

I prefer something that involves me possibly living with a host family, or maybe in dorms or something like that. A friend and I want to go the summer of 2008. Something that has a lot of freedom would be nice, I will be 17 so I want to explore Spain with my friend and on my own schedule. They inhabit our bathtub, kitchen, the floors and ceilings of our home. I have seen a few in my bedroom as well. They look like mini caterpillars. They are brown, about 2 cm long, and curl up when there is any movement around them. Does anyone have any idea what they are, what they are after, and how to get rid of them?! Any ideas will be much appreciated!
