  • How can I store my recipes that I find online?

I'd like to find software, either free/cheap and downloadable, that I would able to import recipes to. I find recipes online and would like to store them without having to retype them or have a huge bookmark folder, or a huge folder of printed out recipes. Mainly, these are recipes I'd like to try, not tried and true keepers!

  • What's the correct etiquette when having you're make up done?

I'm starting a new job in the next couple weeks and need to have someone basically show me how to do my makeup in a professional manner. I've always worked in jobs where it wasn't an issue if I didn't wear makeup, but this job--well, its pretty much required. My makeup bag is basically a compilation of people handing me something and saying some version of 'this'll look great on you', but none of it really matches I guess you could say. I know how to apply, its just a matter of I don't want to look like a teen playing in mom's makeup. So....first how do I choose where to go (Clinique, MAC etc) and what's the normal way it should go? Do I tip them or is it basically a commission thing?

  • Cooking stuffing under the bird rather than inside the cavity...possible?

I want to make a roast chicken for dinner with stuffing but 1) i find the dried box kind a disgusting smooshy mashy thing and 2) dont want to cook it inside the bird due to possible contamination and/or improper internal temperature (ie less than 160 degrees F) resulting in either undercooked stuffing and/or overcooked bird. I cut up some cubes of old (stale) sourdough I made last week and was planning to cook veggies and bird on top. Ideas???

  • Is there a way (before cooking and eating) to tell the difference between pork and beef chops?

Just cleaning out the freezer and found a ziploc with chops in it, but apparently didn't label the bag identifying its contents. Whatever it is, its for dinner so I'd like to know what to make alongside.

  • How can I remove hot wax (the kind used for hair removal) that was left on too long (other than pulling off)?

So I get the bright idea that I'm sick of shaving and want to try to wax my legs. I've got through several brands and finally came across one that I love. Still hurts when you're tearing out your hair, but no where near the burn/sting off the other products. My legs go very well so I attempt my bikini line. BIG mistake. Get about an inch of hair pulled and couldnt take it. I removed the paper (going with hair growth) instead of being smart and asking my BF to just rip it the rest of the way off. So now I'm stuck with about 1/16 of an inch of wax. Suggestions please??? I'm pretty sure the wax is latex based.

  • What's wrong with my brownie batter?

This recipe has been around for ages (at least 50 known years). Its orginally known as 'lazy man's brownies' because you're not suppose to use a mixer. Its 2sticks butter(melted), 2c sugar, cup and a half flour, 6T cocoa 2T vanilla and 4 eggs. Its suppose to be a kinda chocolaty fudgy brownie. For the last 7(ish) years, its pure luck if it comes out correctly. Instead it comes out more chocolaty, fluffy and cakey. Granted, once was because of self rising flour, but I always accurately measure so its not too much dry ingredients. Has flour or cocoa powder changed since then???

  • Any good recipes that incorporate spices?

I'm not looking for 'hot' recipes, just recipes that use spices. I have all of the typical ones but also pink Himalayan salt, whole nutmegs, Turkish bay leaves, whole Moroccan coriander, whole french thyme, Asian chilie rings, whole Indian cumin and Turkish oregano buds. I'm not really sure what makes these different than the regular supermarket ground cumin, iodized salt, etc.

I'm looking for 1 or 2 side dishes to make for dinner. I ran into a HUGE sale on spices so I'm eagerly looking for dishes to make, hence the marinated chicken. But I have no clue what to serve with it!

  • How do I get my kittens to use their litter box?

Three kittens (two female, one male) were abandoned at approx 3 weeks of age. Its hit or miss usage and I'm not positive who is and isn't using the box. Typically Mom shows them these things but as Mom was hit by a car, that's not an option.

  • Any idea what caused this?

Belle, my >1 year old cat has an open sore on her neck about the size of a half dollar. She seems to be in no pain (does not purr either) and does not seem to be bothered in any way. She is an inside only cat and lives with a male litter mate. They are both fixed. I found it on her neck while rubbing her ears and she let me rub over it several times before I noticed it was open rather than just an earlier spray bottle squirt. The male cat doesn't have any sores on him so I doubt it is contagious.

It does not seem to be a cat fight injury (I've seen plenty of those) or as if she got hung up on something. It is flat, almost as if she was skinned, instead of being punctured. Her collar has been removed.

SHE IS GOING TO THE VET, but any info you or I can come up with to provide him will help, i'm sure. thank you in advanced.

  • How do I resolve a mulitple recording conflict on my DVR when the 2nd recording isn't really recording?

I've had my HD DVR for a few months and recently (say less than a week) it had decided to record The Food Network 24/7. The weird thing is while I did have a show recording on that channel, I've since deleted that taping and have the same problem. Even wierder is that the 24/7 recordings are not saved. The TV shows that TFN is recording, but the record light on the box is off, as well as it doesn't allow any other channel to be watched if something else is recording (as it would be if I were recording (and saving) two shows. Any ideas?
