What's the correct etiquette when having you're make up done?

I'm starting a new job in the next couple weeks and need to have someone basically show me how to do my makeup in a professional manner. I've always worked in jobs where it wasn't an issue if I didn't wear makeup, but this job--well, its pretty much required. My makeup bag is basically a compilation of people handing me something and saying some version of 'this'll look great on you', but none of it really matches I guess you could say. I know how to apply, its just a matter of I don't want to look like a teen playing in mom's makeup. So....first how do I choose where to go (Clinique, MAC etc) and what's the normal way it should go? Do I tip them or is it basically a commission thing?

I guess I should have been clearer when I asked about how do you decide where to go...is it price, reccomendation, whatever's closest etc.

I wear clinique its lighter and blends better to not look to made up but natural. I use blush a light pink and eye brow pencil to define my eyes no eye liner eek i hate that stuff mascara is good which also clinique its light on your face. Use some tinted chap stick. I like the look of natural better!! Not to much at the end when you use the blush use a cotton ball and wipe it across you face blend it the answer it works for me

I really like Clinique a lot, I'd recommend them. and from my experience their more than willing to put make up on your just to get you to buy it, you don't have to tip them. I'm pretty sure they make commission
