I have an extensive background in proofreading and editing. I currently write articles for Hub Pages.com. I am interested in people's spiritual and psychological growth, and almost all of my articles reflect this. I am an artist, also, and do gel pen drawings. I became a Christian four years ago, as a result of watching TBN.

  • On Y/Answers, why do you think so few people vote when a question goes into Voting?

I often see only 1 vote cast and that's the vote that decides if my answer was good or not. It seems to me there should be at least 5 people voting on a question's answers to decide.

Also, often, no one votes on the question's answers, and so the question and its answers just hang, and weeks go by and no one ever votes.

Is this because most people prefer to ask and to answer questions and are just not interested in voting, or perhaps they spend so much time asking and answering that they don't have time or energy leftover to go into the voting section to vote? (Actually, that's me....I'd like to vote, but I'm so into answering that I don't have time leftover to go into voting).

  • Why do you think that those who ask questions on Answers let it go to voting?

I realize that some people can't decide on a best answer, so they let voters decide; but I think there can be other reasons why they don't vote on a best answer. Is it often because they don't know how to vote on best answer (I see a lot of people asking how to do this)? Or, is it because they didn't like any of the answers and don't know that they can just choose "No best answer"? Or is it just because they forgot to vote in time and didn't check their email to know the 4 days was up? The reason I'm asking is, I tend to think that a lot of people may be kind of unappreciative of the answers and they don't think the answerers need any feedback. I mean, they might be taking our advice, but then they don't bother to say a simple thank you and vote our answer as the best one. What do you think? Are people just lazy, inconsiderate, forgetful, or inexperienced with how to vote?

  • How to properly use a mouse pad on a laptop?

Has anyone else noticed how hard it is to use the mousepad? Suddenly the page moves itself up without my trying to move it up, and I have to keep using the up and down arrows on the right side of the screen to move the page back to where I want it to be. Sometimes when I am navigating around a page and not even touching the mousepad, the page moves itself over to where I didn't want to end up simply because I moved my fingers towards that area. I know I could buy a regular mouse to plug in instead, but I don't really want to buy one as I do have one mouse I could use but it's attached to my desktop computer and I have to keep unplugging it to use it on the laptop when needed.

Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated. (I'm still fairly new to using a laptop)

  • What's a good substitute for bleach to get stains out of white clothes?

I don't like bleach, as I hate how it smells, and I believe it is too toxic.

Any substitutions that are either less toxic, or nontoxic, would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • How do you insert a photo of your own choosing as your avatar?

That is, if you don't want to use one of the avatars on the web site that they have to choose from. This question applies not just to Yahoo Answers but to any web site where I might want to insert a photo of my own choosing that is not on their web site.

  • Is there a good computer program that arranges book copy back to back as it would look in final book form?

In other words, I'd like to be able to type and put together my book in a software program that puts the book into final form, pages back to back, and ready to be bound into a book....instead of my having to send it to a publisher to put it into final form, or me having to shuffle around pages to be printed back to back and using some form of pasteup to do this. In other words, I want to self-publish it and print copies of the book on my printer to give to a few people just to start. I imagine there may be several such software programs that would do this, but which ones and which are the best? Later on I'd have to hire a company to mass produce print it for distribution to bookstores. Sort of in the dark how to do all of this. Anyone know of a good tutorial website that tells how to best self publish a book?

  • What percentage of Muslims hate Christians and Americans and how many don't?

I am confused. I was absolutely convinced that the majority of Muslims hate and would like to kill Americans and especially American Christians. I was basing this on what we hear in the news media, and also on a number of interviews with various Arab Muslims on TBN who said that Muslims are being taught to hate and want to kill American Christians. But now I am reading Arthur Blessitt's book "The Cross" and he says that Muslims like Christians and Americans. Then I recently saw someone say on Yahoo Answers that Muslims are Christians and that most people don't know this. Also, I have seen Rev. Farakan in an interview with a Christian minister and he complimented and liked Christians very much. Also, in Arthur Blessitt's experiences in talking with Arab Muslims in his world travels, he says that they admire and like talking about Jesus, but yet some won't go so far as to become Christians, and I wonder then why, if they like Jesus, do they want to remain as Muslims? Also, it seems that most if not all Muslims intensely dislike Jews....is this because of the land issues, or is it also about religious differences, and if so, why would some Muslims like Christians but dislike Jews? Any comments or input would be appreciated.

  • My desktop computer doesn't have a "Share" feature on it to share the printer with my laptop. How to share?

Desktop computer has Windows ME. It's connected to Epson 880 printer. Laptop uses Windows XP. Do I need to connect printer to both computers using a cable, or is there another way to share the printer on my wireless network?

  • How do I get my laptop to print to the printer that's hooked up to my desktop computer?

I tried to find the "Share" printer option on my desktop printer but it seems that there is no such section letting me share the printer. Maybe this is because on the desktop computer I have Windows ME, or maybe because that printer doesn't have the Share choice on it? It's an Epson 880, which is actually no longer being made anymore. What would be an alternative method to get that printer to work with my laptop computer? Should I forget about networking it wireless and just run a cable from the printer to the laptop? What type of cable? I have another HP Photosmart printer hooked up to my laptop, but it runs out of ink fast and I want to be able to use the other printer when that printer runs out of ink if I can't afford to go buy ink right away. The laptop is on Windows XP, if that info helps any.
