I am 35 years old. I am married to a wonderful husband of 14 years. I have beautiful toddler. I am a stay at home mom. I have always loved children and always felt like it was my calling in life to be a stay at home mom. Life didn't seem to go that way for many years. I was married at the age of 21 and had a long battle with infertility. Finally through IVF I was able to conceive our son. I have had lots of experience with children through babysitting, volunteer work, and I operated a day care. After a long hard road I am finally able to raise a child of my own. He is the biggest blessing in my life and brings me such joy. We live in central Texas and we are new to the area. I grew up in Oregon and lived most of my married life in Southern California. Overall, I am a happy person with a casual/kick back personality, who loves people.

  • What are some dinners that can be frozen and used later?

A group of my friends want to all make a meal each, freeze them and the give them to a friend who just had a baby so she and her husband can cook them at for dinner at a later time. I was wondering if anyone had a good recipe that I can do? One of the girls is already doing lasagna so I need another idea.

  • Does anyone remember the title to the movie I am describing?

All I can remember is a man had to survive in the wilderness, who built himself a fort, he ate the rats that came in, and he peed on the trees to mark his territory so the wolves would leave him be. My mom keeps asking me and I remember the movie but I cannot remember much about it our the title of the film. Is there someone out there that can help me.

  • Child care ettiquette?

Money is tight right now because my husband works off of commission. I have enjoyed staying home with my son for 2 years and don't want to leave him in a day care so I can work outside of the home. I have watched friends children in the past full time while they worked and really enjoyed it. I found out the laws of my state and found out I can take in a couple of children without having to be licensed or registered though it is suggested you do this. I am sending in an application to the state but we really need me to start right away so I have advertised that I want to watch a couple of children. My question is with that how would I set up with them a contract of some sort? What is the norm? I know that it is normal to ask for payment in advance. Is there anything else I should add in a contract between a mother and I as I watch their children?

  • Meal ideas, please, What is something simple and easy to cook for a crowd?

I am having a group of people come over to my house next week and I will be feeding them dinner. I need something casual, quick, and easy. I have a toddler so anything has to be quick and easy. There will be 10-12 adults and 2 or 3 toddlers under the age of 2. I have done sloppy joes, speghetti, mexican tortilla casserole, and pizza in the past. Want to do something different but can't think of anything. Can anyone help me or do you have a great recipe to share? Thanks!

  • Which household chore do you hate the most and what do you do to make it more tolerable?

I don't know why, it doesn't seem logical but I hate doing the dishes. I will do everything else first and will avoid doing the dishes until I cannot avoid it any longer. Yes, I am avoiding it right now, by writing this question. I do not like using the dishwasher becuase it seems to prolong the process. You rinse, load, wait 45 minutes or so, unload, and no matter what I do there are a few dishes that need to be rewashed. I could just wash it by hand in less time than the dishwasher and get the horrible job over with. I am curious to hear other peoples thoughts on the household chore that they hate.

  • What age is too old to see your mother naked?

I have a 20 month old son. It is just so convenient for me to bring him in the shower with me I bath myself while he plays in the tub and then I bath him. I remember my friend use to bath in the bath tub with her son but once he turned a year old she said he cannot see her naked any more because she didn't want to scar him. I was talking to another friend about this and she said she still will jump in the bath with her son who at the time was two and a half. I also babysat her son and would take him to the mall when I was pregnant so I would use the restroom in front of him his mother was aware I did this and had no problem with it. Of course, I wasn't fully nude and I tried to be discreet about it but I wasn't going to leave a 2 or 3 year old unattended while I peed. I am just curious about other people's opinion. What age should I stop being fully naked in front of my son and at what age should I stop being partially naked like going pee in the mall? Thank

  • Any ideas on how to close the distance between grandmother and 1 year old grandson?

My mother lives in Oregon and I live in Texas. My mother is having a hard time with the long distance between her and her grandson. She lived very close to her other grandchildren and was a very big part of their lives. I try to close the gap by sending her pictures, I have let my son pound on the keyboard and email it to her (she seems to get a kick out of his emails), and I have made dvd's with video clips of him so she can see him in action. Does anyone have any other ideas I can do so she feels apart of his life and as he gets older he can feel apart of her life?

My one year old was watching Chicken run on the tv and at the end when they played the credits there was a song played, a jazz or swing sounding song, He really started dancing to it. Later, I wished I payed more attention, because if he likes that song I would like to buy it so I can play it for him. Can someone tell me the artist and title of the song?

  • Question for a vet?

My cat isn't herself lately and I noticed she has been peeing on the outside of the kitty litter and her urine is a orange color instead of yellow. I haven't noticed her eating and she isn't affectionate like before. She is always under the bed. I am going to take her to a vet tomorrow when I have a car to take her in, but was wondering what could be wrong.
