Question for a vet?

My cat isn't herself lately and I noticed she has been peeing on the outside of the kitty litter and her urine is a orange color instead of yellow. I haven't noticed her eating and she isn't affectionate like before. She is always under the bed. I am going to take her to a vet tomorrow when I have a car to take her in, but was wondering what could be wrong.

Hi Kris... Hematuria (blood in urine) indicates this your cat has a lower urinary tract disorder. It is critical to have her evaluated by a veterinarian as urethral blockages can be fatal for cats within 24-48 hours.

She most likely has a urinary tract infection. Any time that a cat does not use the litter pan (and they always did before) you can suspect this. She will probably need an antibiotic.

She definitely needs an evaluation by a vet. Those behavioral signs indicate that she is quite ill. Hopefully she will have something that is treatable and can be restored to her old self again soon.

My best wishes for you and your cat - that she may have a speedy recovery from whatever is now wrong.

Urinary tract infection is the prime suspect. Hopefully that is it...it is easliy treated with antibiotics!!!!

But GET to the vet. Do not delay!!! It is a painful condition and can lead to complications if not treated!!
