Connecting flight and baggage?
I am due to take an international connecting flight via London Heathrow. On my return flight I wish to stay in London and forfeit the final leg of the flight home to Ireland.
Does anyone know if I can get my checked in luggage back at this stage or will the airline send the baggage on to the final destination?

3 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoI can't wake up in the morning!!!?
I just can't seem to get up in the morning!
I set two alarm clocks, which I leave around my room, but I always wake up 10 minutes after I'm supposed to be in college with no memory of my alarms going off...apparently they go off loads and I just repeatedly hit 'sleep' (this is according to my housemates!)
Anyway, my mum has suggested buying an old-fashioned alarm clock and sticking it in a tin, but I don't really wanna annoy the neighbours...I live in a terraced house with a neighbours bedroom backing onto mine!
Just wondering if anyone had any tips or suggestions for getting up...please don't say more sleep, I can't afford it ;)
Thanks everyone

14 AnswersOther - Health & Beauty1 decade agoIcy Roads and footpaths all over Ireland?
This is probably going to be a rant more than anything else, but the radio was on when I got up this morning and I'm just so annoyed.
For all of the road safety authorities efforts of saving lives, what the hell are they at?
One man has been stuck in his house in Ballyhaunis for three weeks and can't even walk to the shops. The water supply is frozen.
The country is almost out of grit...why can't they buy more? They get it from the north. I mean, why can't they just buy it now and pay for it after. Surely the safety of the lives of the citizens is the priority! Obviously not!!
What the hell do the councils do with the revenue they get from parking tickets and clamping?
Surely safety is the priority....I witnessed a young teenage girl of about 15 slip on the footpath in Galway city and get a concussion!! I haven't seen one gritted footpath throughout this whole icy period!!
I mean, truly, a monkey could do a better job than whoever it is that is not really doing anything now!
Rant out!!
Canada donated a snowplow to Ireland a few years ago, and what did the government do teh next year? They bloody well turned around and sold it!
9 AnswersOther - Ireland1 decade agoHow should I sign my paintings?
Hey everyone,
I just finished a set of watercolours I'm doing as a Christmas present for my boyfriends parents.
I've never given anyone a gift of a painting before, and in Uni we're not allowed sign any of our work for our portfolios.
Just wondering what the protocol was on a present...should I sign in my full name or my nickname (Eims) and should I date it?
I am going to title the paintings in the bottom middle (the name of their house, which is what I painted)
Thanks for all the help and advice,
Eims
4 AnswersPainting1 decade agoWhich lead to use for under a watercolour?
Hey everyone!
I was hoping people who are experienced in watercolour paintings could give me advice their advice on the best lead to use for the underlying sketch to give a nicer finish to the overall painting.
I'm torn between using HB and 2H, but I have my faults with both.
2H tends to scratch the watercolour paper and leave behind grooves on the page that you can see through the paint when I'm finished.
I can't remember if HB lead tends to slight smudging when you colour, it's been a while since I've done one.
I know these are minor things, but the paintings are a Christmas present for my boyfriend's parents. I really want to do a set of lovely watercolours but I'm just more used to rendering in graphite now. I'm studying architecture and recently handed in my end of semester portfolio, which were mainly graphite renderings.
I'm painting various images of their beautiful house - they're very house-proud people. I've photographed and printed out the images I want to paint. They must be of a professional standard as I'm going to get them framed.
I'd really appreciate if anyone whose used to watercolours to give me their opinions and advice.
Thanks in advance,
Eims
