So I was watching some silent hill let's plays and something I noticed is that the characters don't seem to phased by the horrible flesh and nightmare abominations attacking them, sure they sometimes freak out a bit but other than that the protagonists don't seem to really be horrified by them

So me and my friend are completely new to the game making process (around 2 weeks in but he has a bit of coding experience) and are making a metroidvania type game with me doing the art and my friend the coding and my friend is constantly running into problems but is normally able to find a way around them and I'm just wondering if there are any programs that would be recommended over game maker or if we should just keep figuring our way around it

So I'm planning to build my first desktop and there are a few games that I would like to carry the saves over to the new computer but the problem is i don't know what games are synced to the steam cloud and all the backup data is around 59 gigs so no flashdrive of mine is carrying that data so how can i get the saves from one computer to the other, I really don't want to looses a ton of saves
