I am reading Of Human Bondage by Maugham and enjoying it. I have read a huge amount of classics in my time, but I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for a novel similar in theme/structure/size as this one.

I love the turn-of-the-century, coming-of-age, short-chaptered masterpieces...so best answer points go to the person who gives me a suggestion I HAVE NOT already read!

I like all kinds of stuff, but I want two new games. One I want to be comic, cute, fun, adventure type stuff...like Crash, etc. One I want to be either a lowkey/scary RPG or a fun empire building/sim type game.

I just asked a very clear question about how redundant and annoying the total monopolization of this site due to Harry Potter fans was and all I received were attacks.

1. I have read all the books, furthermore I work for Scholastic Press who publishes them, so I read them weeks before you guys did

2. the fact that you bother posting your critical responses and whining about "i'm not a kid!!!!" proves ... yeah, you're a kid

3. i never said HP was for kids OR adults...you people assume too much

I understand. You kids grew up with Harry and think theres some kind of personal connection to him. Precious, honestly. However, just because you're offended that not EVERYONE wants to constantly discuss this exhausted subject is no reason to post vile statements accusing me of things that are not true. You guys just assume whatever you like about me, then bash me because I have a life and think HP is just a passive fad.

Honestly...it started a month prior to the release. The endless thousands of speculative "questions" about what was going to happen...

Now...2 weeks later, nearly 90% of the "questions" here in this category are STILL about Harry Potter.

My question is...

When does school start back up again so we adults here can have some relief from this childish obsessive behavior?
