I have a van that gives 18 mpg. It has 170,000 miles on it. The wear shows but it is doing fine otherwise and all othersystems work. I have owned it for 8 years.

My next car will definitely be a Hybrid that gives more than 35 mpg.

My dilemma is:

I could trade this one now and start emmiting less green house gases.

or

I can drive the one I have for another 40-50k miles; thus delaying a cars worth of hard ware and mterial consumption for another 4-5 years.

So the question is: What is more environment friendly - Trading in old gas-guzzlers early for Hybrids or running them out for thier full life? Becaue after I trade this one in now, someone else will buy it and drive it for another 50,000 miles anyway, right?

What is worse: gas fumes of 300 gallons or Meterial for a brand new car?

I had an old monitor or stardard 4:3 format (800X600; 1024X768) etc. I bought a new letterbox type monitor (1400X900) and uninstalled the oldmonitor drivers before installing the disk that came with the new one.

After installing and re-installing several times, I still cannot go to property - settings and change dimentions toa 1400X 900 or a proportional dimention. So my computer still shows 4X3 desktop strecehd out horizontally to 14X9. All images are distorted.

I called Gateway (the menufaturer) tech support and they actually refered to me to their non-tollfree number and the tech just washed her hads saying that what I had already done is all she could suggest. This is the first time a computer menufeturer actually failed to resolve an issue for me.

Any bright ides?

The traffic controllers are understaffed because Unions put constrains on FAA's ability to hire enough traffic controls. If there were enough of those so a person with two hour's sleep would not have to come to work, this would not have happened.

I was having a lunchat an expensive restaurant with family the otherday and a woman in front of me was wearing a jeans so low, she reminded me of a plumber and she was not even leaning forward!

She was young and shapely but a butt crack is still butt crack. She had to know when she put it on and walked out of the house.

I had to get up and move a chair so it would not distract me from my family and food or else I would have puked.

So is this a new trend? Should we get used to ssing more people showing off thir crcks on purpose?
