I was using Win7. Had to install WinXp for running a particular software. Now, i have lost access to Win7! When i computer starts now, i dont get any option to choose an operating system for booting. WinXP is loaded by deafult. Will reinstalling Win7 over WinXP work..?

P.S: i have 5 partitions in all; all of them formatted as ntfs.

I know that there's no permanent cure for migraine... u have to learn to live with it. At best, its effect can be reduced. So, i m asking if anyone knows something that would ease the pain, or rather, lessen the freq of attacks.. Something that has worked for u.. any home remedy or anything..? Coz i don't think there's any medication available that would stop its occurrence...

This virus entered through a usb in my system. The peculiar thing about it is that whenever i scan my system using the antivirus(avira antivir), it deletes the file. The virus path is shown to be 'C:\Windows\system.bat'

But if i search the windows directory, there is no such file... Also, since this virus has infected my system, a new process called 'iph.exe' has started running... though the process can be terminated, but it starts again once the system.bat file is run...

It also happens that the virus just doesn't delete. Once the antivirus window pops up and i delete it, the next second the window pops up again... and it doesn't disappear until i restart the system...

Although it is not doing any harm currently, it might affect the system in the long run... I have tried scanning through various tools such as 'ad-aware' and 'spybot' but to no avail...

Can anybody guide me how to get rid of it permanently?

Still better, can u draw GUI on Windows and move it to Linux?

I just came across a Cross-platform development toolkit called 'Qt' by 'Trollltech'....Has anyone heard of it or has any experience on working with it?

I just want to create a GUI for a small application i m developing in Linux..

I have Windows XP. Recently, my Task Manager isn't showing up... it means, it is NOT DISABLED, but when i try to open it, it just shows up for a second and closes in a flash!!!..

And it is not just the task manager... i tried to open REGEDIT.EXE and GPEDIT.MSC through 'Run'... but they too just show up for a second and close....

I suspect some malicious activity on the system... i have scaneed system through AVIRA ANTIVIR ANTIVIRUS and Ad-Aware Spyware.....

Also, i use SPYBOT-SEARCH & DESTROY, and everyday it finds and corrects problems with task manager... But the problem persists....

I also suspect 'spoolsv.exe' backdoor infection... coz printer SOMETIMES prints slowly...

What can i do? Which tool can i use so as to restore my system to a healthy state??

What will be the answer for this product? i can't just multiply them all !!!
