  • Computer: Microsoft Windows Q:?

When in logging off mode, my computer always insists on an update task which states:

"Updating one of one" which stalls the shut-down program. This is obviously a malfunction, but how do I over-ride this annoying fault?

  • My poem for assessment: “A Dark Mystery” of the universe pondered from the seat of the camp fire.?

    "THE DARK MYSTERY"

The yap of the fox breaks the still of the night

Up the canyons dark trail to the flickering light

Of camp fire burned low at the panicle height

Where the pine tops give sway in the soft autumn breeze

And firelight responds to darkness on trees

Warm blushes of orange under canopy leaves

A wonder of heavens where stars are the song

Of a beauty so perfect and time that is long

Nocturnal the witness from animal throng

Night sky the blanket a cover of peace

To ashes the camp fire the night to appease

All souls are at rest now and hearts are at ease

While in darkest of dark dwells the God of the Ark

Ten cubits apart stone walls guard the heart

Of the age and the mystery of Earth from the start.

  • Should Jails be more open to public scrutiny?

If jails offered the same facilities for public observation, such as public galleries in a court room, would the added facility help to take the mystery out of frugal conditions and loss of freedom that must be endured by prisoners, and maybe add another level of disincentive for criminal activity in our community,?

  • Should smoking be banned in jails?

In parts of Australia, smoking has become prohibited in enclosed areas of prisons. Where this becomes questionable, is for those prisoners in maximum security sections of the prison, where upwards of twenty three hours of the day are in enclosed containment.

Since cigarette smoking is not illegal, is this new regime justified and fair?

  • mild symptoms of1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) dog bait poisoning ?

Is anybody aware of the symptoms in domestic dogs of mild poisoning by 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) wild dog bate? While camped in a wild area of the country (AU) recently, where 1080 is occasionally used, I observed one of my pups chewing on bleached bones in the area of the campsite, (which I later concluded were possibly the remains of a poisoned fox or dingo). Shortly after, she became sick with an occasional foam vomit accompanied by a “bloody” diarrhoea.

I am aware 1080 remains effective in the remains of poisoned animals as they decompose, however is anybody aware if the poison remains in the “bleached bones” of poisoned animals? A second dog in the camp was a mature dog which had been previously taught not to scavenge: She was unaffected. The affected pup was nursed back to good health over the two week period and survived.
