I became interested in alternative and complimentary care in 1995 when allopathic medicine failed me. Like most, I waited to use it as a last resort. It took herbal therapies less than one week to balance what three months of allopathic treatments couldn't -- without the side effects. The more I experienced the effectiveness of ACM and tried different therapies, the more I wanted to learn (and am still learning). In 2002, my best friend and I founded Alternative Measures for the purpose of providing and integrating multidisciplinary holistic care services in Northwest Ohio. We believe that the greatest healing occurs when we take an active role in our own well-being. If you have any questions concerning complimentary and alternative care, or would like to be included in our referral network, please feel free to email us. If we can't answer, chances are we can refer you to someone who can! My philosophy: I refuse to tiptoe quietly through life only to arrive safely at death.

  • Do the Chinese have it all wrong?

As far as I'm concerned, it hasn't been the year of the dog...it's been the year of the BUG!

  • Now that we're getting points for "tumbs up"?

when picked as Best Answer, do you think you will be more likely to rate answers?

  • Are we getting points for thumbs up, now?

I just got 11 points for a best answer. 10 for the answer and 1 for a thumbs up.

  • If you can vote for yourself ...?

    what's the point of points?

Are they intended to be a measure of reliable information imparted, an indication of how many hours you spend on Answers, or competitive person's dream?

Do you feel the point system encourages a "What's in it for me?" attitude (people answering questions just to get points)?

If the points are so valuable, why deduct points for asking questions? Hard to believe there would be an Answers without questions!

Do you see any similarities between the points on Answers and academic atmosphere in some schools (i.e., points deducted for asking questions [challenging authority and status quo]; points given no matter what the answer [gold star for participation])?

    INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW!!!!!

(I would have split this up into several questions if it wouldn't have cost so many points :-o)

  • What's the weirdest "alternative" therapy you've experienced, and did it work for you?

I do weird stuff. I'm a Reiki Master/Teacher, Aromatherapist, Sound Energy Therapist, and also work with crystal energy and homeopathy. I tell my clients that this stuff is weird ... I know it's weird ... and it still delights and amazes me every time it works. I've become quite skilled in what I do and am looking to expand my services and knowledge.

  • How spiritual do you aspire to be?

Are you happy cruisin' along at 50, maybe two steps forward, one step back; or are you put the pedal to the metal, no holds barred, outta' my way, just tell me what I gotta' do, hell bent for heaven? Or maybe somewhere in between?
