Henke Anisette? What is it?
I was given a bunch of old bottles of alcohol a friends dad had in a cabinet. There are two bottles of 1970 rye whiskey, japanese sake and a bottle of Henke Anisette. I am unable to find any info on the anisette or the henke brand.
1 AnswerBeer, Wine & Spirits10 years agoFinishing a basement. What to do with the vapour barrier?
I am finishing my basement which has concrete walls. Should I put any vapour barrier against the concrete (exterior) wall or should the insulation be put directly against the wall? What is the proper order from the exterior wall in? (i.e. exterior wall to insulation to vapour barrier)

I found this growing in my front yard while clearing some brush. I have never seen a plant like it and am debating whether or not to remove it. It is about 2 feet high right now.

4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoSub floor for tile in a basement?
I bought a house and the basement was being finished and now I have inherited the project. The basement has a subfloor laid which is chip board and has been attached with what looks like bolts or pins fired by .22 cartridges.
My goal for this project is to lay a nice heavy slate on the floor since there is a 60,000 BTU fireplace down there i want something sparks will not mark. Would I be best to screw a solid plywood floor to the chip board to make a better base for the tile? Or should I rip it all up and re do the project?

I am currently shopping for a house and am renting a month to month apartment. The landlord is great and the apartment is also great and we have never had any problems either way. Should I tell my landlord that I am looking for a house as a heads up? Or should i just give my notice with as much time as possible? (I know it needs to be at least 30 days)
