Do amps matter in powering electrical devices?
I have a video camera and monitor that I want to use in a car. They use AC adapters which each output 12 volts, but a different amount of amps. I use an inverter to convert the car's DC current to AC, in order to power these AC adapters. Since the car's DC is 12 volts, I'm wondering if it's possible to skip the inverter and the two adapters and wire the devices directly.
I don't know the amperage of the car's DC output, or if it matters at all. Is there a risk of damaging the equipment if the amperage is too high or too low?
7 AnswersEngineering1 decade agoWhat do the major religions officially think of each other?
I don't mean in terms of tolerance. I mean, does the Pope think all Jews and Muslims will burn in hell? How about Protestants? And do all the monotheistic religions believe that they all believe in the same God, except with different um, beliefs? Or does each religion believe that everyone else is praying to false gods?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoSeized engine on '93 Celica GT?
Apparently I made a big mistake, letting the oil run low... The mechanic told me that the engine seized.
First, someone told me that some cars are able to shut down the engine to prevent the engine from seizing. Any chance that this is true, and that my car has this?
Second, if the engine is seized, do I need to replace the entire engine, or just some engine parts?
Thanks.

1 AnswerJapan2 decades agoIf you get motion sick in cars, would you participate in a medical test if you were to get paid?
And if so, how much would you expect to get paid?
I'm not asking for volunteers right now; just trying to figure out how willingly people would volunteer and how much a test would cost.
The test would take one hour. And while you'd probably be fine, there is some possibility that you would get a little sick.
Thanks for responding, whether yes or no.

They say it prevents hangovers because it lacks some umpurities. Has anyone really tried hard to get a hangover with Skyy but couldn't?
7 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits2 decades agoWhat authors should I look for if I like Michael Crichton and Dan Brown?
What I like about their books is that they're all page-turners and I always feel like I'm learning something (though much of it may be fictionalized and controversial...). Can you suggest a couple names?
