What do the major religions officially think of each other?

I don't mean in terms of tolerance. I mean, does the Pope think all Jews and Muslims will burn in hell? How about Protestants? And do all the monotheistic religions believe that they all believe in the same God, except with different um, beliefs? Or does each religion believe that everyone else is praying to false gods?

I'm not sure this is the place to get an "official" answer to your question. :)

Having said that, I will venture an (simplified) opinion for the majority of the Evangelical Christian denominations.

That Belief in God through Jesus Christ is the ONLY path to salvation.

Any other beliefs (Judaism, Islam, Hindu, JW's, LDS (Mormons), Atheists, Pagans, Anamists, Agnostics, Heathen, New Age, godess worship, sun/fire worship, etc, etc.) are a sure ticket to hell, so it would be un-loving NOT to at least TEll them, and offer them the opportunity to change before it is too late for them.

This opinion has gotten many into hot water (and oil, and beheaded, and imprisoned, and burned at the stake, not to mention hung on crosses) but what do you expect from people who are simply following a leader who hung on a cross when he could have "taken the easy way out".

The disciple is not above the Master, so I expect to take some heat from this, and I forgive you in advance.

This belief is in NO WAY an excuse for berating, mistreating, discriminating, hating, mocking, scorning, or any other mistreatment of someone who disagrees.

True followers of Christ are in fact ashamed of such behavior, as it is an insult to Jesus Himself, who returned a blessing for a curse, and told us to do the same.

All of the above is what people think. God will be the judge, not people and those people that condemn others are going to be worse off. God has put many people just where he wants them.

Rom 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honor, and another unto dishonor?

It does not mean they are right in thier beliefs but its not our job to judge. Its our job to convert you but more important is the job to love you no matter what you are. An Islam might not go to heaven but for the hater is a long day in hell.

Luckys answer is great too. I think we feel the same

Well, the Baha'i Faith teaches there is truth in all religions:

"God sent His Prophets into the world to teach and enlighten man, to explain to him the mystery of the Power of the Holy Spirit, to enable him to reflect the light, and so in his turn, to be the source of guidance to others. The Heavenly Books, the Bible, the Qur’án, and the other Holy Writings have been given by God as guides into the paths of Divine virtue, love, justice and peace."

There is always one winner and many losers, depending on who's criticizing who... All religious groups try to convince you that only them have the truth on their side and all the others are wrong, it doesn't matter what religion they are talking about. So, my conclusion to your posted question is: They are all the same. They have no good opinions about the others and not even the slightest tolerance.

There are ways in which all faiths overlap, share beliefs, and that is usually in the area of morality and ethics:: dont lie dont steal dont murder, that kind of thing.

But there are also areas of Theology in which we disagree:: the nature and makeup of Gd, what Gd demands from us, the nature and character of the Human Being, and this kind of thing.

In the latter, we just think each other is wrong.

I'm a Latter-day Saint. I'll try to paraphrase a recent statement by the president of our church.

We acknowledge that basically all religions teach good principles. In that way, we have a lot in common. What you have is good; let us give you more.
