The Ice maker still works and the water dispenser works, but when I press the button for the ice dispenser nothing happens....

I had an occasion to receive information on a teacher's methods for educating my daughter here in Utah. Each class he would hand the kids a packet as their work assignment and then sit in the class whilst they worked.

When my daughter asked one day; "why don't you teach us something instead of giving us these packets every week"?

He said "I stopped teaching when you stopped listening"!

Now this teacher has been one for over ten years and is a tenure teacher, meaning he gets paid more because of his service and is therefore very hard to remove from his job due in part to the very powerful teacher's union here.

What options do we as parents have when we come across one of these teachers.

We hired another teacher from another school to educate our child after school.

But i need to know what we should have done to kick this guy up the backside and get him teaching again, or if necessary get him removed!!

Apparently the car comes with over 300hp standard or more depending on which one you buy, but the suspension and brakes are totally inadequate for this type of performance and handling, only the rousch version gives independent suspension and upgraded brakes, the gt 500 gets more horses but can't put that down to the road unless on a straight road. According to ford its down to price meaning that they wont spend the money cos it makes the price go up and if you want it you should get it yourself!! Or go buy something that has these as standard and watch the old american car companies go by the way side making obsolete products with substandard chassis components just to make a buck out of you. Why do they think that we would put up with that???

Surely it would be much more advantageous to both sides if teachers were paid based on their performance..not on how long they have been in the job. It seems irregular that in this most important of industries we pay based on experience not performance, and that its extremely hard to remove bad teachers who have been serving an awfully long time when they are protected by the system and the powerful union. In any other industry you get rewarded based on performance so why not teachers too? What are you afraid of???

I took the test here was done in 20 mins was given 100% and it didn't test me on anything that would benefit me as a driver. When i took my test in England it was an hour long, the pass rate is 45-50% and reqiuired professional lessons @$20 hr.. Is there a possible link between the fact that driving is the biggest killer of teenagers in america, over alcohol, drugs, guns etc, and the basic way we teach and test them to drive? Shouldn't the test be more comprehensive, to give them a better chance of surviving into their twenties, should we change the way we teach them in our schools? Or should we follow California and raise the age limit to learn to drive for our kids from 15/16 to 17/18?

Is the high school system working properly, do students know how to read, write, and calculate when they graduate, or is this the reason they need extra classes in college?

It seems to me that if you have money you give it to someone who you want in power and when they get in they pass laws that favor the people who paid for them to get there. If you want to get into politics you need money or have friends who have lots of it instead. How does the common man become president if he doesn't have a silver spoon or know someone who will give him one?

i think its theoretically possible because i know a crossover cable acts like a serial cable allowing shaing of files folders, and gaming but can it be used to enable internet connect sharing between a wireless laptop and the kids desktop upstairs. Now before anyone suggests i know i can buy a wireless card for the desktop but funds are limited and i already have the crossover cable from my gaming past. I just can't figure out what settings i need to enable /set and the process of getting the desktop to use the laptop connection. the wireless connection is encrypted, does this make a difference? i tried using the network wizardin win xp but got nowhere fast i just can't remember what i need to do so i'm asking for help.

Maybe i'm just ignorant, so can someone explain to me how a God could suggest to his people to go out and kill yourself and others in order to get an exulted place in heaven. Or maybe its men who use their position of influence with their followers to suggest this to get gain/power etc. What ever happened to tolerance and love thy neighbor as thy self. If we in the west allow those people to practice freely based on their beliefs why can't they respect us for our beliefs and leave us alone? If we were persecuting people here based on their faith and blowing them up or shooting them how would they feel about that? Why can't we just agree to disagree on our faith and learn to respect each other for being human beings and share what we have with everyone.

The fact that both parties receive contributions for their member,parties and campaigns, and that the lobbying system is so huge, and the way laws are passed on the back of other laws, I wonder how we put up with the current system? When I see both parties so consumed with looking after their own interests and not looking out for whats best for the people or the country, i get so exasserbated. Its Crazy isn't it?

I moved to America 2 1/2 years ago and had my children living with me then, however following a child abduction hearing in america which I won, my children went back to england for a vacation and never returned. If they came here for a vacation or to live could I apply for their custody in an american court, or would i have to do that in an english court. Right now neither I or my ex-wife have legal custody of them. She filed for it in england but the judge refused to give it since i wasn't represented in the court.

I have networking experience and have set workgroup names and ip address in each computer. One is running xp pro the other xp home, yet they dont see each other, what did i miss? I've installed netbuie in both created a shared folder in each and tried finding the other computer in find computer in network neighborhood. i'm scratching my head now, tried shutting down and restarting

the xp home comp shows a 1394 adapter too which was part of a bridge connection for a network it was part of, the xp pro comp had a new network card installed. i see no conflicts in irq settings, i'm stumped what did i miss?

please help????

I have cable with wired router and i'm considering buying wireless router. I have networking experience with wired, are there simple instructions with setting up wireless network?
