  • How much to tip a landscaper for a one-time job?

I was wondering what the common courtesy is in terms of tipping a one-man landscaper for a one-time job.

It's a one man company and I'm still waiting on his estimate. Is it appropriate to tip in this case? If so, what percentage?

    Thank you!

  • What are your favorite business blogs?

I want to amass a selection of 5-10 blogs that I can read & comment on several times a week. My interest lies in business focused blogs, specifically starting a business. The problem I'm having is that there are so many blogs to choose from!

So Yahoo! Answers folks what are your favorite business blogs to read?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Not able to submit answers?

    Hi all,

I've been away from Answers for awhile but I still have an active account. Over the last week or so I've tried to answer questions -- draft my response, click preview & then once I hit submit, the page freezes. When it finally stops loading, it goes to a blank page all the while still showing the Yahoo logo in the upper left section of the browser page.

Anyone have any ideas on why this may be happening? Any insight is appreciated. Thank you!

  • Easter in Greece?

My mom & I will be in Athens on Saturday morning, coming from CA and OR respectively. We realize that Easter is a very important holiday there & I was just wondering if any folks had recommendations on things we absolutely should be sure not to miss. While we're not religious by any means, we do want to attend a service, if it's acceptable & not disrespectful for tourists to do so.

Any insight is appreciated. Thank you!

  • Changing airlines on an international flight?

I'll be traveling to Greece in April with my mom & had a couple of questions about this whole baggage thing. We'll be flying United from LAX to JFK and then 90 min later leaving from JFK to Athens on Olympic Airlines. How likely is it that United will transfer our baggage to Olympic? Is there a way to be guaranteed that this will happen, such as paying an extra fee?

If transferring is not possible, are we crazy to think we can pick up our checked bags & check them back in all in 90 minutes? I'm leaning towards 'no way is this possible' but thought I'd ask.

If this sounds impossible, I'll probably be asking another question about changing flights! :(

    Any help is appreciated!

  • Abuse of Violation Notices?

I received 7 violation notice emails this morning, one right after the other. The reason for the violation for all 7 was SPAM/Advertisement. I only list 3 types of links: links to government agencies, links to FREE resources and links to FREE articles. Also I am in no way affiliated with any of those links nor do I advertise in any way.

That being said, I have a feeling that it's the same person reporting me...now, isn't that an abuse of the system? What can be done about that?

    Any guidance is appreciated!

  • Press Release Question in Respect to Businesses?

What types of information related to a particular business justify submitting a press release? For example, would the following justify sending out a press release:

    * A blog that's supplementary to your main site that is there solely for informational purposes

    * Adding new landing pages to your site

    * The launch of a company newsletter

The company I work for has either already begun or is about to begin all of the above. Can we send out a press release for all? For any?

Thank you so much! Any guidance is appreciated!

  • Question about repeat postings - does that mean questions and...?

    answers? Does this:

"NO REPEATED POSTINGS: You may not post similar or identical postings."

apply to answers as well. For instance, if different people have the same or identical question, it is alright to post the same information, right?

I mostly answer in the Business category and many people ask the same or similar questions. All of the information I give is tailored to their specific question but repeating answers does happen.

For instance, if the question has to do with wanting to know what types of home businesses to start, I have book titles (NOT LINKED, just the titles) and free article links (NOT commercial, merely informational) as well as text I like to use.

I've seen other people do the same so I assume it's okay but want to be sure.

    Thanks for any help!

  • Yahoo! Answers TOS regarding URLs?

I was wondering if anyone could help me with the below. Does "commercial activity" cover any & all sites? For instance, does it include links to articles or books or informational sites that are relevant to the question? In my answers, I like to direct people to articles, books, sites that will help them further & these links are not affiliated with me personally or with the company I work for -- so, is that okay?

"NO COMMERCIAL ACTIVITY: You may not post URLs for the purpose of directing commercial activity to a non-Yahoo! site.

NO REPEATED POSTINGS: You may not post similar or identical postings. This also applies if you are including the same commercial URL on all of your postings for the purpose of directing commercial activity to a non-Yahoo! site."
