EXCEL - How to use the IF function to find a particular word in a STRING of text ?
Hi so i am creating an excel function. The cell D5 contains a full sentence of words. I want to create a function that detects the word "work" in that sentence. If it finds that word within the sentence I want it to print the word "employment".
THe formula/function i have created only detects the word "work" if its the only word in the cell.
Here is my function:
=IF(K2="work","EMPLOYMENT") - its not doing what i want it to do!!!
My question is - Is there a way of Excel finding the word "work" in amongst the other words?
3 AnswersSoftware1 month agoI want to create an IF function in Excel - can you help me?
Ok in the field B3 there is some text - if that text contains the word "work" or "furlough" i want it to write the word "employment" into another cell.
SO how do I write it the function?

Is this correct If not please could you tell me how to write it?

2 AnswersSoftware1 month agoUk recruitment question - is it appropriate to approach civil service recruiters for jobs using Linked in ?
I have seen a few US individuals suggesting that I can approach recruiters on Linkedin , as well as other professionals and ask for tips and recommendations on how to land particular jobs . I am looking for civil service roles in the Uk snd wanted to ask if that approach can also be used for civil service recruiters? The reason I ask is that I always believed that the civil service follows strict impartiality processes when recruiting snd so approaching them on LinkedIn is unlikely to be effective . I’ll post a vid of a US gent talking about LinkedIn strategies so u can see what I am asking specifically. Would this approach work For civil service roles?

How are we gonna get rid of this thing? Wont the thing just keep spreading and mutating and circumventing the vaccine? How do they plan to eradicate this thing once and for all?
PS dont get me wrong, i live my life as best as i can and i dont let COVID 19 get me down but i really dont watch the news because i get overly anxious from watching it, so maybe all of this has been explained by the news broadcasts!!
1 AnswerPolls & Surveys2 months agoIs the UK's Royal Family INHERENTLY special in any way? Yah or nah?
If so, can you explain what is uniquely special about them that would not apply to any other living individual? And if you don't believe they are special, why are they treated as such, with access to boundless wealth, homes etc?
PS I liked Diana and I like her sons, but I can't see why any of them, especially in light of recent scandals, are treated as demigods, why they in particular in the position they are in and would like to hear some logical arguments for maintaining this particular group of people as a constitutional monarchy rather than any other group of people based on merit.

I had a poorly fitted kitchen previously, we now have a brand new kitchen however we kept our old washing machine (its a great washing machine) so it is not fitted like our other appliances, and this means there is a slight gap under the washing machine.
I know from previous experience its near impossible to clear out any mess from under there unless you disconnect the whole washing machine and pull it out, which is very hard to do. Can yourecommend a product i can buy to prevent debris rolling under there in the first place. I remember someone saying something about "plinth" but I looked on Amazon for a plinth and couldnt find anything that fits the bill. ALternatively if you have any other recommendations I would love to hear them

6 AnswersHistory7 months agoAny ethical hackers out there, what are the pluses and the negatives?
I've been working in the legal advice industry but recently lost my job. I am interested in a career in ethical hacking but I am slightly worried that it wont be a good fit for me, I have always dealt with people and their legal issues. Ethical hacking appears to be more of a business process type of career, I am not sure I am cut out for it. I have watched some vids on Youtube but still dont have a tangible enough idea of what it will be like. If there is anyone out there that can layout the pros and cons of this career choice, I would be grateful. PS - I am looking for a role with limited stress, so if this career option is stressful, please share - and also share what exactly makes it stressful/ not stressful/boring/exciting etc... Many thanks
1 AnswerOther - Careers & Employment7 months agoso is anyone else having trouble getting in job interviews currently?
I realise that we are in the midst of a pandemic, but given that recruiters are still recruiting apparently, I’ve applied for a number of roles, both in the charity sector and also in local government. I’ve also applied for private sector roles. Usually, when I apply I get one or two interviews. In this case I hear nothing from months and then eventually I am told I was not shortlisted. I understand that this is life and things happen, but I’m just wondering if this is a common experience currently, or is it just me?
2 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment8 months agoAre asthma sufferers more at risk of life threatening complications from the coronavirus?
My son is 7 and has mild asthma. News reports state that those with "underlying" conditions are at the greatest risk - but i am not sure what those underlying conditions are... does that include asthma? Also would using his "preventer" inhaler daily help with this (we dont usually use this unless he is unwell).
