I want to record shows that I usually watch, but now with my job I am working steady evenings. I hate my VHS, it never works right. My friend says she has a DVR and she loves it, but when I looked it up it says that there is a fee each month to use that. I don't think thats what she has. Then I saw there are now DVD recorders....if I want to tape 3 shows a week, and dont want to pay extra fees, which would work best for me?

Ok, so my friend says she has a DVR and she loves it. She says she can record her fav shows on a dvd just like she would do on a VCR. What is a dvr? do I have to have satellite? i dont have satellite, i have cable, so do i have to have something special from my cable company? do I just hook it up to my tv and set it like I would a vcr? I have never heard of one of these before, and since Christmas is coming up, IF you use it like a vcr, it might be something to look into. Any info you can give me on a dvr would be greatly appreciated!

I installed the Sims 2 Home Crafter Plus today. I have tried several times to use it, but when it opens, and i choose create new walls, all i get is a screen where I can rotate walls, put the grid up or down, I cannot figure out how to design new walls or floors. Any help????

I remember in 7th grade home-ec class we made a jello cake. we used a regular boxed cake mix and made the cake like normal, but then we put holes in it with a fork and poured jello mix liquid over the cake, does anyone know of the recipe for this? i was diagnosed with mastitis today in my right breast. the doctor recommends that i take two days off work in order to let the antibiotics kick in and let the pain decrease. I am an RN, so I know the causes and treatment of it. My question is, I started my current job in march, and have had to call off three times because of personal & health reasons. If i call off again, i will be put on probation at work. My breast is so sore and swollen and tender I dont know if i can do my job. I am a rehab nurse so it involves a lot of physical exertion. Would you go to work and try to make it through the day or would you call off and take the probation?

Two months ago, my mother in law was admitted to the hospital for an infection in her foot, which turned out to be MRSA. She has had a nonhealing foot wound for years (shes diabetic and poorly controlled) I am a nurse with three years of hospital experience (plus the five years i worked at the hospital in various positions before that) and I know that MRSA is not uncommon, and that it can come from practically anywhere.

Now, heres my question. My mother in laws one dr is telling her that it only lives in sterile environments and she had to have gotten it from her podiatrists office. She wants to sue him for all he has. I know that she could have contracted MRSA elsewhere. She has not been in the hospital for years other than this admission. She walks around barefoot with no dressing over her sore all the time.

I need to find some websites to prove to her that she could have gotten it elsewhere. Anyone help please?

I have been a smoker for 7 years. I recently have been experiencing diarrhea and abdominal pain for the past few weeks. It seems that every time I have a cigarette, i get cramps and then have diarrhea. Is there such thing as tobacco allergy? And if there is, why didnt it manifest sooner? Any ideas? I havent switched brands in the past two years, and I'm not smoking any more than usual, in fact im smoking less because of the belly problems.

I have been taking Risperdal for the past year by prescription from my dr. At my last visit, we decided to wean me off of it and see how I do. We gradually weaned my doses, and I have been off of it now for 2 weeks.

Since then, I havent been sleeping well. My hubby tells me that I am yelling and screaming in my sleep, and talking a lot too. I have never talked in my sleep before. Has anyone ever had this happen to them or heard of this happening after discontinuing this drug? I have looked it up online but cant find anything on these symptoms... I dont know whether it is common or not, and I dont know whether I should call my doctor or not. I'm afraid that if I call her, she will put me back on the drug, and I am trying to get off the pills so my hubby and I can start a family. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

I got a new light blue fleece shirt for Christmas. I went away for a while the next day, and when I got home my husband was painting our hallway. He accidently bumped into me and got dark green paint on my new shirt. Anyone know what I can use to get the paint out? I don't want to wash it until I find out what could be used. Yes, I did try wiping it off when it happened, but there is still some paint there.

Tonight I asked my husband a question about what he plans to tell our children when they ask him why he doesn't go to church with us. He told me that he plans to tell them exactly what he is, then became very defensive with me, telling me that he doesn't judge me and I shouldn't judge him. I wasn't judging him, I was asking what he would tell them!

I give him his space to read his books and such, and he gives me my space to go to church and all. Never has this caused problems with us before. Now all of a sudden its like I'm the bad guy and I'm hurting him. How can I make him understand that our religions differ and that we don't have to agree on all aspects of it? I'm also concerned about what our children will think.

I went to see my dr yestereday, since I've been having problems with my depression and anxiety more and more lately. After talking for a good while, she recommends that I take a week or two off from work ( i am an RN on a very busy unit ) When I talked to my hubby about this, he said its up to me, but we could really use the money right now (we're saving up to buy a house). Way to guilt trip me. I feel that I do need a little break, just until I get my head on straight and start feeling a little better. I mean, I hold ppl's lives in my hands every day, and if I'm not up to par, what happens if an error occurs and someone gets hurt??

So if I do take time off, my hubby will be disappointed in me, and yes I have explained to him my reasons for agreeing with my dr and how I'm feeling. If I don't then I have the constant worry about making a mistake since I am having problems concentrating.

Any suggestions? To take a leave, or not to take a leave, that is my question.

I am a nurse at a small hospital. Today i went in to work, expecting a good day since yesterday was good.. but instead I have 10 patients on a busy unit, and the other girl that I'm working with is a fresh graduate nurse who just got off orientation herself. She needs help with some stuff since theres things she hasnt done yet. No lunch break today and hardly time to pee. By the end of my day, i was so upet that I just wanted to cry. I had 10 of my own, plus helping the other girl out with her things, plus the wonderful family members.. Its too much to handle. My manager said that she's sorry, but sometimes these things happen and theres nothing we can do. I think that we need to find a better solution because things are getting so much worse that I am ready to leave the profession, and its a job I love very much. Am I wrong for being this upset? I only have 2 yrs experience myself so its frustrating. Any suggestions how I can talk to my boss?
