  • How many SATA drives can I run with 750W PSU?

I current have i7 processor with 12GB RAM. GTX2600 video card with 4 HDD. When I tried to add one more SATA drive and I SSD drive, the computer slowed way down and I was not able to bring up disk management at all. Every click is painfully slow to respond. Some friends suggested that the power supply may not be able to support that many drives. So how much power do I need for 1 SATA drive 7200 or 5400... Should I go to a 1000W PSU? I am planning on building a NAS eventually but want to know what I should do in the mean time.

  • Help me choose between Allure Gripstrip and Allure Ultra?

I am in the process of building my woodworking shop in my basement. I have to decide on the flooring. I went to Home Depot and found two types of vinyl planks I really like. They are both made by Allure:

    1) Allure GripStrip ($1.79/sqft)

    http://www.homedepot.com/p/TrafficMASTER-Allure-6-...

    2) Allure Ultra ($3.44/sqft)

    http://www.homedepot.com/p/TrafficMASTER-Allure-6-...

    I know the following:

    a) The GripStrip has glue. The Ultra does not. Ultra uses a click-and-slide method to assemble.

    b) The Ultra is thicker than the GripStrip.

What I need to know is:

    - How durable is the GripStrip? Since I will use it in my workshop, I will beat on it. Sometimes I will drop a hammer on the floor or slide a cabinet around. Will the cheaper one hold up?

    - Is the GripStrip also click on?

    - How easy is it to install each type of following?

Obviously if I can get away with getting the cheaper product I would do it. But I have a hard time trusting the glue. If you have used these products or if you are knowledgeable about them, please help. I have to make a decision very soon. Thanks for your help.

Need owner feedbacks on Power Washer such as Dewalt DXPW3425. How high can it reach and how to deliver cleaning solution?

I am trying to clean the siding because I have a lot of mildew growing there. My house is on a slope was it is very hard to clean because on the bottom side, the house is 40 feet tall (see diagram). I am going to invest a power washer such as the Dewalt DXPW3425 I saw in Home Depot. However, I have the following questions: 1) Can this power washer get to the high spots of my house? (This washer is 3400 psi with 2.5 GPM). 2) The instruction manual said when using cleaning solution, I have to use low pressure, black insert nozzle. Then can I still deliver the cleaning solution up the top of the house? If any owner of similar power washer can get me a clue, it will save me multiple trips to HD.

  • American Standard Furnace Freedom 80 blower won't stop?

I have an American Standard furnace/air conditioning unit at home. It has been working for over 10 years. Then one day, the blower won't shut off (when using the furnace). The heater control is working because the burner would come on when calling for heat. When the desired temperature is reached, the burners would go off but the blower would stay on. Actually now the blower is on all the time, even with the thermostat turned off. I was told that it can be the blower relay. Can it be replaced or do I need to replace the whole board? And where can I buy a replacement? (Please include the website).

  • Need tips on night deep sea fishing in the East Coast?

I live in Boston. We went out twice this week for night fishing around the Hampton Beach area headed to the south-eastern sea. Started around 5PM and ended at midnight, we even hit some over 200 ft of water, but there were next to no action. We caught some small pollock and sea robins around sunset, but it went silent after dark. What can we expect to catch in these water at night? We can usually catch cod and pollock during the day. It seems fishing at night requires different set up or location? Does anyone know how to fish the sea at night? I would appreciate if you have any tip for me and my crew. Thanks in advance!

  • Problems with uploading music to PSP (expert only please)?

I've been using psp for a long time and recently got a 4 GB Sony MS Pro Duo and decided to put most of my music into it. While I was uploading the music, some of the folder show up as "0 track". Once that happen, everything else I added would become 0 track. I've done some experiment and found the following to be useful: 1) only drag and drop one music folder at a time 2) turnoff the power save mode, 3) get in & out of USB mode after copying 3 folders. I was able to copy about 1GB worth of music with this method until Windows hit a glitch and then all the files get corrupted afterwards. Once the files are corrupted, you are done because additional files transfer will also be corrupted. You cannot deleted the corrupted files/folders and the only option to clear them is to reformat. I use XP and firmware 3.11. I only transfer mp3 and wma. wma is enabled through internet. I can still play the uncorrupted files. I think this is a software bug. Any idea how to make uploading music easier?

  • Help for selecting the right flat panel TV?

I am in the market to buy a new TV. I want to get one with moderate price. My last TV was not HD so we don't know if we care much about HD or not. I am looking for a 37" to 42" TV. I am not sure about whether to get a LCD or plasma, and 720P or 1080P. We mostly watch non-HD DVD and regular TV. Sometimes we watch football games (non-HD). Any suggestions? (I know the benefit of 1080p and all that, but I am not it is woth the extra money with our watching habbit. If there is a reason definitely not to buy one over the other, please tell me.) Also I have looked at several brands, like Samsung, Philips, Sony, Panasonic, etc. I think the Samsung one has the best HD pictures. Do you own one of these TV? Can you tell me your experience??? Much appreciated!

Oh, one more thing, will the quality be terrible if I watch standard definition programming with a high definite TV (compare to watching it on a non-HD TV)?

  • How to replace passenger side mirror for a 2000 VW Golf?

Someone took out my wife's car's (2000 VW Golf) passenger side mirror in the parking lot when she was away. I want to replace it for her so she won't get rip off by the dearship. Can someone give me step by step directions on how to replace it (assuming I can get the parts)? If any panel needs to be removed, I need to know where the screws are and everything. If you can provide a website with specific instructions, that would even be better. 10 points for most useful answer.
