I am 49 and have enough wisdom and experience to usually resolve my own issues but this one is a bit perplexing for me. I have been divorced since I was 29 my daughter is 21 and in college. I met my fiance a year and ago and our wedding is this year. He has two children 17 and 18. His first marriage was bad, his wife was very hostile and abusive towards him. His children know of me, and he's told them (I overheard the phone conversation) he wants them to meet me and it's like they have no interest at all. I have tried to include them in Thanksgiving/Christmas or whenever they want to come by still nothing. My fiance told me that his ex wife told him "I don't want that woman around my kids" which I thought was terribly ugly and immature, but I suspect that may be why I haven't met them. I've been trying to tell my fiance that I don't feel that my first meeting with them should be on my wedding day, who wants the extra pressure of how they're going to receive me on my wedding day? I also feel bad that the ex wife is being so petty about me being around them. I want them to feel comfortable with me, I'm a great, funny, down to earth person so I thought if they meet me just once they'll see for themselves, but every time my fiance tells them to come by they're unavailable. They barely call him so maybe I shouldn't take it personal, but I wanted everyone to feel at ease.

I was flipping channels and Flashpoint was on and I actually had to watch a second to see if this was Jennifer Garner. .I looked at other pics of her and I she doesn't look like Jennifer in other pics but this was one I thought I'd share:

This happens to be my favorite Phantasm. My question is this: What in the world happened to Mike in that movie? I mean Reggie looks like he aged normally, but Mike looks old and worn out. . like the tall man drove him to drugs and hitting the bottle to escape from constant stress of being on the run. . tee hee ---Seriously I was watching the movie saying to myself "what in the world is up with Mike?"

Ok, I like her in the Twilight films, so I'm not being a hater - but what's up with that deadpan look of hers? It drives me nuts, every photo I see it's always the same bland expression.

Ok, I'm the office manager, and I'm in my 40's. My boss is older, maybe between 55-69. He's an alcoholic and because he's out at meetings most of the day he eats a lot of fast food. I'm not sure if it's the combination of his age, diet and alcohol that makes him crap all day but it's driving me crazy!!! And as luck would have it, my office happens to be next to the bathroom. At whatever time he arrives in the office, the first thing he does is head in the bathroom and takes an "explosive" dump (I can hear it mind you) after which he comes out and leaves the door open, so the smell starts to make its way into my office. He also pees on the floor, and doesn't wash his hands. He takes a dump like this at least 4-5 times a day, sometimes he runs in there. I buy the office supplies so of course there's two different types of air freshener in the bathroom,WHICH HE DOESN'T USE. My office is mainly women (1 other male in the office) and this infuriates me that someone could not only be so nasty, but inconsiderate as well. How do you tell someone they completely disgust you with this????

I am an older woman dating a younger man, I’m 45, he’s 29. I met my boyfriend’s mother several times and although she is pleasant to me, I always got the impression she was jealous of my relationship with her son. My relationship with him took off fast and we got close very quickly and he was always at my place. All of a sudden his mom started telling him to stay home more, and he did. Our relationship started to take a nose dive and I knew it was because of his mother.

This memorial day we went to a cookout at his aunt’s house and I had not been a social situation with his mother before, what I saw BLEW ME AWAY. His mother greeted me at the door introduced me to his aunt and then came and sat down next to me. This forced my boyfriend to sit beside his mom, not next to me. When he sat down she quickly grabbed his arm, put it around her neck so that his hand was resting on her breast, then she began to rub his thigh and they engaged in a private “whisper-like” conversation. I looked in amazement as his hand rested on her breast and she rubbed his thigh and thought “THAT’S HOW I TOUCH HIM!” They totally ignored me. This went on the entire time we were there. If you walked in the room you would have sworn they were girlfriend and boyfriend. I do believe his mother did this on purpose . .like it was a competition. She felt jealous and threatened of me, and I felt so disrespected and her behavior was totally inappropriate. If this is what they do in public what do they do behind closed doors?

and most are married. They have been through tough times with me. But I never forgot to give their marriage respect it deserves. The fact that David had to say something to his wife about this is absolutely crazy to me. Jennifer is that needy that she has to be up under Courtney all the time like this? I was dating a man for about a year, he is 43, I'm 44. We were close friends a while back & we ran into each other last year. I started seeing red flags within 2 months, (it was like a bait & switch) he was using drugs, and I broke things off but remained a friend. He seems to have gotten himself together as that goes, but I don't live with him so who knows for sure. He's a nice guy and I know he loves me, but he's so incredibly needy, he calls me constantly (not uncommon to get 10 calls a day--it drives me nuts!!), acts like he can't do anything independently. He was looking for a job recently, & he acted like I was his personal secretary. Then when he comes over he's like a dog in heat, I guess cause I'm not feeling it, it bothers me that he paws at me constantly. Tried to tell him I don't feel the same way he does, he's hurt & disappointed me quite a bit along the way. I can't seem to move past my fear that he will use again. Finally I stopped answering his calls all together.

I'm a 44 year old mother with a 15 year old - I'm interested in knowing how many of you feel comfortable talking to your mothers about most things? I can say I'm pretty down to earth and I don't feel or look so old that I can't remember what it's like to be a teenager. From some of the questions, I read, it seems you don't go to your parents for advice. My daughter talks to me about everything from boys, to sex, to her gay friends at school, her girlfriends, stuff that happens at school, and I'm glad she does because I can give her good advice, I've traveled the road she's going down and I won't tell her anything that's wrong.

Ok, I am not even going to dispute the fact that she's very talented, but who agrees with me that her diva attitude completely sucks. It makes her so unattractive to me, I've heard so many stories about how she's so stuck on herself and when she said "When I watch TV and see those poor starving kids all over the world, I can’t help but cry. I mean, I’d love to be skinny like that, but not with all those flies and death and stuff.”

I thought it was pretty good, although the ending was a bit sad. . but the vampires looked crazy. . what do you think about the movie?
