  • Can spray on rubber fix a small crack in a foundation?

We had some water leak into our finished basement after some heavy rains. While looking outside the house I found a hairline crack in the foundation exactly where the carpet was wet on the inside. I also noticed my drain hose from my gutter from the roof drainage was accidentally pushed up against the house right at that crack.

I've seen commercials for spray on rubber where they coat a screen door and put in in the bottom of a boat, and the boat still floats! Can this type of product be used to seal a small crack in a foundation? I only have to dig a few feet to get to the base of the foundation to expose the entire crack that runs vertical on the wall and apply the product from the exterior. Advance thanks for your knowledge and willingness to share.

  • How warm is lake Michigan water in July?

We have decided to vacation from Kansas City to a resort on Lake Michigan this July. Were looking at the east side on the Michigan side of the lake. Were looking at about half way up the coast. I've asked about 10 people as to how warm the lake will be in July. Will it be warm enough for swimming or riding a wave runner? 5 of the 10 said its warm and no worryu while 5 others have said the lake water never really warms up and its to cold for water activity in July? What do you know?

  • Do you use social intelligence to make others feel better or for your gain?

Knowledge of social intelligence is a powerful tool. Some use it to simply enhance relationships and make others feel good. Others use it as a manipulation tool to persuade others to do as the manipulator desires. How about you?

  • What can I expect from a telescope?

I just purchased a SkyWatcher 130mm Newtonian Reflector Telescope

on Ebay.I will receive it an a few days. I have no experience with such a device and wonder what realistic expectations may be. With a 130 mm reflector and a good eyepiece, can I expect to see Pluto, Mars or the rings of Saturn?

  • Do some birds fly for the fun of it?

So I'm sitting on my deck in Kansas city enjoying a sunset. I could not help but notice how several different breeds of birds seemed to simply be enjoying the day. It looked as if they were playing tag or just taking a leisurely fly. Of coarse I considered that they were probably on a mission eating bugs and going about the common endeavors in a birds life. But if left me wondering, Do birds fly just for fun and games?

  • Why don't farmers harvest the fields? ?

I live in Kansas city and go for bike rides out in the country. I noticed many very large corn fields unharvested in November. Why is this? I can see the corn on the stalks and it appears it's just going to waist.

  • Should I pay off my mortgage loan?

My wife and I have recently came into a good sum of money. We currently owe about $ 140,000.00 on a house that (was) worth about $ 250,000.00 @ 5.8% interest with 28 years left. It's logical to me to pay off the home and save all that interest. I'm confused in that talking with friends and family, everyone expresses that if we pay off the loan we will loose the tax advantages. I can't beleive however the tax advantages could be anywhere close to the dollers paid and lost in interest. What do those in the know say?

  • Help with Microsoft Excell. The columns are numbers instead of letters?

In the past whenever I started a new spreadsheet, the columns are designated by letters A, B,C and so on. Now the columns are numbers 1,2,3 and so on. I'm not sure what I did to cause this but more important, I don't know what to do to change it back to normal. Even after rebooting and opining a speadsheet done long ago, it brings it up with numbered columns as opposed to letters. HELP!

  • Should I consider pursuing my own business?

I really love my work and I can even say I like my job, but I really don't care for the people I work with and for. I have taken substantial steps toward opening my own operation and my confidence is high I would succeed. My conflict is that the people I work for have treated me very well for over 20 years now. They have taken me from $6.50 an hour to upper middle class! I only have 15 years until I retire but have always dreamed of running my own show. Do I stick with the people who have made me what I am today or spread my wings and see if I can fly? It's a long way to fall if a fail!
