  • Looking for the name of an old 90's video......?

This is very random and I've tried asking this question before with no luck. Maybe today someone might know. I'm looking for the name of an alternative-style song that came in in 1995 or 1996 I think and all I remember is the video. It showed some guys flying around in space. The graphics were very cheesy but I think that was the look they were going for. That's all I've got, LOL.

  • Do you have an 8-10 year difference with a sibling?

If so, what's the age difference and are you older or younger? What is your relationship like with your brother/sister? I have two kids now, 6 and 2. I want to have another one when my youngest is 4 but that would make my other child 8, going on 9. That is a huge age difference and I wonder what kind of relationship they might have.

  • Ladies, what do you wear under compression tights or running pants?

I have just taken up running recently, planning on running a 10K in April. Bought some new compression pants but wondering what to wear underneath that is comfortable and doesn't leave VPL (visible panty line). VPL is one of the my biggest pet peeves, I can't run outside knowing I have VPL. Suggestions? I was thinking some of those Nike compression shorts.

  • Question about difference in tax refund?

I have completed our taxes online. Our refund is $800 less than last year despite the fact that this year we had an extra $800 in the Making it Work credit and an extra $1200 in education credits. How is it that despite having higher amounts as listed above, our refund is actually less? I thought it might be more. What difference could cause this? Where should I double check for changes between this year and last year?

  • Training but still gaining weight. Why?

I've been training for a short distance marathon for the past week. As part of my training, I am also watching what I eat on a daily basis. The first few days I lost weight, but the last 3 days I've gained weight, 2 pounds total. How is it possible that I am watching what I eat, and running 1.5-2 miles a day yet still gaining weight. I know muscle weighs more than fat but I doubt I am building muscle this fast.

  • Question about Visa Gift Card and using it online?

I received a $25 Visa gift card as a Christmas gift. I want to use it online to buy something I have had my eye one for a while. But the item I want to buy costs more than $25. Can I use the gift card if the item is over the amount on the card? If I was instore, I could simply charge the difference to my credit card. However, not sure that this will be an option online. Someone suggested I use the Visa gift card to buy a gift card from the online retailer, but they don't sell gift cards. Any ideas? How can I use this Visa gift card online if the item I want to buy costs more than the value of the card? Thanks.

  • When you buy sunglasses and take them in for prescription, will the lenses be completely replaced?

I want to buy some Ray-Ban avators. I will need the lenses to be prescription lenses. I already know the prescription can be added to the avators. Now I am wondering if the optometry will completely replace the lenses or simply "add" the prescription to the current lenses on the sunglasses. Does anyone know?

  • Good place for delicious sides for Thanksgiving?

Can someone name a good restaurant to pick up some great sides for Thanksgiving? This is my first year to attempt to cook turkey so I plan to buy the sides pre-made so I have one less thing to try to make. :)

I'm in Texas. I know restaurants aren't available all over the country.

  • Question about receipt for charitable donations?

I advise a student group at my school and they are conducting a coat drive soon. We are asking that people donate gently used and clean coats that we can then pass on to a shelter or other organization to put in the hands of people who need them.

We are not a true charitable organization or recognized by the IRS. Can I still give a tax deductible receipt to people who make donations? Can I claim on the receipt that it is a receipt for tax purposes if we are not a recognized charitable organization?

  • Have you had the H1N1 vaccine in mist form?

This is the one with the weakened strain of swine flu. I had it and am now having some of the crummy side effects such as sore throat, runny nose, head ache, and body aches. If you had the same type of vaccine and had side effects, how long before they went away? I don't feel horrible, I can function. But I wish I could just stay in bed instead.

  • Suggestions for a snack for kids?

My son is starting school next week and will be in extended care until I can get out of work. The school asked us to pack a snack for him. I need some ideas on snacks that:

    1) are filling (he has lunch at 11:00 then snack time after school at 3:00 so he will likely be hungry)

    2) don't need heating, there is no microwave

    3) will stay fresh and cool to eat in his lunch bag all day long

Any ideas? All I could come up with was crackers or a fruit cup.

  • Question about Healthcare Power of Attorney?

My grandmother who is 99 is very sick in the hospital. She has been living with her daughter for the past 30+ years. Doctors keep asking her if she has a Power of Attorney to make health care decisions. She doesn't have one.

My grandmother has other children still living but has not seen any of them for over 10 years because they all live out of the country. My mother has taken care of her for the past 3 decades.

Is it possible to get a Health care Power of Attorney at this point? My grandmother is no longer of "sound mind" and she cannot sign any forms. What can we do? Although our entire family knows my mother has been the only person taking care of my grandmother for 30+ years, I know the doctors don't know that so they are asking for a Power of Attorney. What can we do?

I wanted to order the form on LegalZoom.com but not sure if I can. Please help.

  • What trial was it that the media went crazy and developed signals for what the verdict would be?

It was not very long ago and reporters were trying to develop signals like waving colored flags to let the media know if the verdict was guilty or not guilty. What trial was this? Anyone remember?

  • What can a parent do when Extended Care after-school program is full?

I just tried to register my son in the Extended Care program at the elementary school he will be attending. He is starting kindergarten. I was surprised when they told me it was full. I thought they would accommodate whatever the need was and not be turned away.

Anyhow, I asked them what other options parents had and the lady flatly told me "Parents need to figure that out for themselves."

Well, I'm new to all this and not sure what I can do. We also don't live near any family so grandma or auntie cannot pick up my child. We are new to the area and know no one. Please help! What other options are there that you know of?

  • What are some good kids' magazines?

I want to order 1-2 kids' magazines for my 6 year old. He can read and I want to continue to encourage him to read, while learning about new things. I have heard of National Geographic for Kids and Sports Illustrated for Kids. Does anyone recommend any others?
