In the process of filling out my UC app. When I click on Modify in my course list, I can't add any new classes.?
This is the online app for first year students. I seem to be limited to listing seven classes in grade 12. I go to school outside of CA so my application may look different from in-state students' applications. I'd like to add my spring electives, but at the moment, I just can't. I can modify the seven that are there already, but can't add any more. Thank you so much!!
2 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoWhat's a nice Thanksgiving dinner for two, who are far from family but want to cook and eat at home?
I love to cook, and am good at it, but really can't see roasting even a small turkey on Thanksgiving if it will just be the two of us. I've seen that you can buy just the breast, but that seems a bit blah, and even then, it would be about four more pounds of turkey than we are likely to eat, even with leftovers. (Really great ideas for cooking just a turkey breast will be considered, however!!) We eat a roast chicken about every ten days to two weeks, so that's out, too. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
7 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoWhat does it mean to describe an NL team as having an "American League type line-up?"?
I heard the TV announcers say that about the Phillies a couple of times this evening, during the final game of the NLCS. Any other comments on the differences between the two leagues, other than the obvious one -- the DH in the AL -- would be most appreciated, too. For example, how are NL teams managed differently from AL? Are personnel choices affected by whether it's an AL or an NL team? Thanks so much.
6 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoHow to find TV and radio broadcast schedules daily, with channels/frequencies, for games?
For those of you who live in cities with professional sports teams (or are familiar with the newspapers in those towns), can you provide a link to the newspapers' daily sports calendar for TV and Radio broadcasts of games/matches of interest to fans in that geographic market? Specifically I need a calendar that includes the time and the channel/network and/or radio station frequency for the broadcast. Here is an example of what I'm looking for, from the local paper in the San Francisco Bay Area: http://www.sfgate.com/sports/tv/ I'm trying to compile a list of URLs to keep with me at all times when I travel, so that I can find radio (mostly) but also TV coverage of games being played while I'm on the road. Or, if you know whether such a list actually exists somewhere, all the better. Thanks, everyone!!
1 AnswerFootball (American)1 decade agoHow to find TV and radio broadcast schedules for regular season games?
This is for regular season games, not just post-season. For those of you who live in cities with MLB teams (or are familiar with the newspapers in those towns), can you provide a link to the newspapers' daily sports calendar for TV and Radio broadcasts? 2 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoWhat's the best way to make cork shelf liner stay secure? Is there some kind of adhesive I should use?
I bought a roll of the thin cork shelf liner from Williams Sonoma for my kitchen cabinets, which I recently had re-faced. Because it's been tightly rolled, it won't lie flat in the cabinet. One of my cabinets has deep "dead space" in a corner that turns, and when I put the heavy items that need to be stored there back in that corner, it pulls the shelf liner over. I'm finding it really hard to handle! Is there some kind of double sided tape or light adhesive that I should be using to secure the liner to the shelf? Thank you so much.
2 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoCan I watch my home teams' games live online while out of town?
I live on the West Coast, within the markets of two MLB teams, but travel a lot to the East Coast. I often find myself done with my work/other obligations late in the evening, right when my favorite teams are getting underway. If I get the MLB.com TV package, can I watch my own teams' games live when I am out of town? The hotels where I stay almost never have any baseball games available on their TVs, except the occasional ESPN natioinal broadcasts. Thank you!
1 AnswerBaseball1 decade agoIf you could live on or very near these lakes: Maggiore, Garda, Lugano (in Italy) or Como, which would it be?
I'm thinking about buying a villa in a town right on one of the largest lakes in northern Italy, or within a few kilometres, but with a good view of the lake. I'd stay there from 4 to 6 weeks, four times a year (in each season). I really enjoy classical music recitals and a good movie theatre not too far a drive away would be desirable. A few, but not necessarily a lot of, good restaurants and cafes would also be nice. Do you have any ideas? Thank you.
