Occasionally, the idle stays up about 1800, if I shut the key off, and restart the car, it usually drops back down below 1K. It doesn't happen all the time

Autozone and Advance Auto only check 96 up, so whats my options?

Hi I just picked up a Yamaha XV1000, it pops and backfires thru the exhaust, I heard it is the air pump or whatever it is in the left fake air cleaner. Which part usually gos bad, the round valve or the flat looking valve?

I just picked up a 93 Ranger 4x4 with a 3.0 V6 in it, it was a bit slow, so I just tuned it up, but was still a dog, so I checked the timing, and the base timing was ok, but it will not advance as the engine revs.

Doing some research, it said something about disconnecting the SPOUT connector to set the timing , then plug it back in after you set it, but I cannot find any such connector on the truck? It also said that the EEC computer part of it controlled the timing, how many brain boxes are on this thing, I was going to pick up a used one and see if it helps. Any ideas on how to make the advance work?

I have a old shovel that needs some clutch work, was thinking about upgrading to a diaphragm type clutch, what are the pros and cons with the new and improved?

I have a old bucket truck that blew a hose, I fixed it and put more oil in, but the hydraulics operate a lot slower than before. I have to rev the engine up to make it move like before the hose blew. I cleaned the filter, but its still slow. Any ideas? Thanks
