  • Pension advice please?

HI, I have a friend who is considering retiring. She has an option to convert some of her work pension to cash. She has a large mortgage- £90000. and is worried about paying it off if she retires. She is paying interest only -She has no money saved for her retirement but She will have a small lump sum and she does not know whether to pay off the mortgage with the lump sum or keep this as a safeguard in case something happens. Or does she convert some of her works pension so that she can pay some mortgage off and keep some money as back up? Can anyone give some advice please?

Will I be able to drive/work the day after? I Need to know this info as soon s possible as If I do need to take time off I need to reschedule my diary so that I do not miss appointments or deadlines.

I am NOT trying to get a sickie from this but I have some experience of going for a surgical procedure and the medics NOT telling me I could not work immediatley or for the next day ( amniocentesis)
