How should this new AC Condenser Fan Motor (Dayton FM205J )be wired?

I bought a replacement fan motor but it has more wires than the orig GE motor (which had three).

I see the diagram on the new motor shows an "optional 3 wire" hook up but I do not know what "insulate" means on that diagram and don't know what to do about the existing wire at the L1 screw on the left underside of the contactor - just leave it and add the purple to it?

I am hoping to save a few hundred bucks on what looks like a 5 minute job but I need good info from someone who knows what they are doing.

Link to both pics is here:

  • Did the shop do something wrong with my Volvo repairs?

Car had no symptoms at all then today, my 2002 Volvo S60 showed a warning message "overvoltage stop safely".

    A Volvo forum said alternator.

A franchise/chain shop said alternator was 11/13 so ok but battery was dead. I asked if alternator could be the problem. They said no.

They installed a new battery @ $154.00 I got back on the highway , drove 20 miles then got new message "El.powersystem service required" then next "Battery voltage low" .

I went back to the shop, they replaced my alternator @ $414.00. I asked if they test drove it, they said no.

I drove a mile and a loud noise (from pulley) happened and car slowed then died. It restarted fine, I went back to shop; the tensioner pulley was wobbly as heck, they want to replace it.

Question is, do you think there was a possibly a problem with the alternator install that caused the pulley to become warped?

    I know nothing about cars.

Additional info is car has 118,000 miles on it and had orig alternator.

    Help! and Thank you!!!

  • How is this algebra problem done? Exponential and logarithmic functions?

Can anyone give me a step-by-step how-to for this problem?

    w(4)=270-170(3.2^-0.2(4))

in case I've not written it correctly, the exponent of the 3.2 looks to be -0.2(4).

this problem is about someone lifting weights for 4 weeks and how much they will be able to bench press after the 4 weeks.

The answer to this problem is ~203; I just don't know how to solve this and I am so far into the class that they don't go into it in the book-they just say "plug in 4 and solve!)

    Thank you!

  • If Hume doesn't believe we actually reason then does that, according to Hume, believing in God is?

If Hume doesn't believe we actually reason then does that, according to Hume, believing in God is just as reasonable as any other idea?

I'm writing a research paper on Hume today and am nearly at the end of the Spark notes pages on Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding. So, it occurred to me that since Hume suggested we pretty much are supposing every conclusion basing same on impressions/observations/the cause and effect habit; does this view support a belief in God? If we can't know the real "power" behind anything then isn't that probably what religious people refer to as God? I may be an idiot but Hume is seeming very religion minded to me right now.

    Thanks in advance.

I took my lawn mower carb apart to clean it and now it leaks. I've attached a pic of the leak area. I am wondering if I might have put it back together wrong. Why is fuel coming out of this hole? Am I missing a part or is some linkage wrong? Thank you!

  • I'm investigating avoiding gift tax and want to know if these are good, or not so good ideas.?

My parents have a $200 house. Can they sell to me for a nominal amount, say $1K? I plan on living in the house in the future and keeping my own house as a rental.

My second question about avoiding or reducing gift tax has to do with my parents paying my bills. Would there be any red flags if they paid my mortgage and living expenses @ $1200/mo in addition to the $26K annual gift?

    Thanks.

  • Why don't the Texans like .....?

I've been living in Texas for 5 years now, and moved from Washington, DC/Northern Virginia (my childhood home, I stayed until I was 32.)

I work with native Texans in an accounting office and though I've been there for several years, they don't invite me to lunch with them when they go as a group. I know they feel awkward about this when they are on their way out and have invited 5 people but leave me. They don't invite the guy from New York either.

What, in general, do you think nativeTexan's think of people from NY and DC? These people are lifelong Texans in their late 40's, very twangy talking and friendly. It's obvious they don't think of non-Texans as their peers. Just wondering what they think of us.. It seems like they are nervous when they talk to me too.. what is all of this?? Do they think we're "city slickers"? lol

    Thanks.

  • School help Escalation Clause Business Law construction?

I am unable to find a Texas case or statute that indicates the outcome of a contract where an unforeseeable price increase is the issue.

For my business law class, the project is examining a case where a woman ordered built a custom home; the contractor stopped work and demanded an additional 20K as a natural disaster that just occurred had increased the price of a product by that much.

    Any guidance is soooo appreciated.

  • Ultimately, what did Nat Turner and his followers lack that was necessary for a successful uprising?

    1. Ultimately, what did Nat Turner and his followers lack that was necessary for a successful uprising?

I have to make an entire essay based on the answer to this question. In my mind, the country wasn't ready for any broad-sweeping change; subsequent and previous rebellions failed too. I know Turner's group was quite small; the only thing I can think of is that he lacked the man-power. Obviously his group killing women and children worked against the cause.

I just have no idea what the author of my text is looking for here.

    Any comment and information welcome.

    Thanks.

  • Missouri Sales tax question / installation charges: taxable? CCH Wolters?

    http://www.sos.mo.gov/adrules/csr/current/12csr/12...

I can't tell if a charge is taxable. My company purchased cabinets for installation at a store of ours in MO. The seller is based in Missouri.

The invoice line items are cabinets, more cabinets plus installation @ $1700 and at bottom we're charged sales tax on all cabinets and the installation.

I think the installation is taxable, someone in my office insists it isn't. She was livid that I'd second guess her because I'm also suggesting that the system she's been using for a year to discern taxablity is wrong. I just have a tendency to think you have to go the the local dor to be sure.

The installation was part of the purchase, obviously, or I wouldn't be paying for it.

let me know. Any info or comment welcome.

    Thanks!

  • My Ex is in arrears about 10K in Child Support. Is it true that once my son turns 18 I have no claim to the?

arrearage plus interest? I'm in Collin County, Texas with divorce decree and two acquaintances advised this recently.

I hesitate to collect the debt now because Ex is in dire straits financially and I'd like to avoid his opportunity to get a modification lowering the support owed. Also don't feel the need to devastate further a person that was a very good provider in the past, he's responsible for three *new children, and of course he's still my son's Dad.

I plan on getting a consult with a family lawyer soon but would like info sooner!!!! Thank you thank you thank you.

  • What can I do about this personal income tax situation - 2008 1040 help!?

I just got a letter from the irs. Seems I didn't claim about $2300 in interest income and so they want an additional $2100.

I looked back over my return today and saw that I also didn't include a capital loss amount of over $3500 for sale of stock in 2008.

With out knowing enough about income tax (obviously), will this reduction of my adjusted gross income (?) likely help my situation?

My itemized deductions far exceeded my income for 2008 as I only had 2 months of rather low wages.

    Any help or suggestions welcome.

    Thank you in advance.

  • Sales and use tax professional - could you please help with this question?

The company I work for has 175 stores in different states around the US. Do we pay use tax on office supplies

shipped to the stores from our Texas warehouse?

If so, do we also pay sales tax to Texas because the items were shipped here first?

I know sales/use tax laws vary greatly from state to state. I was told yesterday however, that we have to pay Texas tax on operating supplies in our warehouse that are not for use in Texas but are shipped to our stores.

My company has been paying sales/use tax to both jurisdictions for a long time... This doesn't seem reasonable to me. Any and all info welcome.
