  • All-Star Game Trivia?

Six times this decade, a pitcher earned the win in the All-Star Game despite only pitching one inning: James Baldwin (2000), Freddy Garcia (2001), Brendan Donnelly (2003), B.J. Ryan (2006), Scott Kazmir (2008) and Jonathan Papelbon (2009).

Kevin Brown (in 1992) remains the only STARTING pitcher to toss only one inning and get the win.

QUESTION: Name the two All-Star pitchers to receive credit for the victory who threw the fewest innings (both 1/3)?

Name the pitchers and the years. Good luck!

  • All-Time Home Run trivia?

Since 1876 (the first year of the National League) nine players have been recognized as being the all-time home run leader. We all know about Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron and Babe Ruth. Who are the other six players who can lay claim to this record?

  • Yahoo Baseball Fans? Could you please take the time to answer this?

How irritated do you get when you click on a question to answer it, and see that one of those ignorant spammers has answered with something like this....

nike shoes(air jordan, air max, shox tn, rift, puma, dunk sb, adidas) $32

    nike jordan shoes 1-24 $32

    handbags(lv, coach, fendi, D&G, chanel, gucci) $35

boots(ugg boots, ed hardy boots) $40

    COOGI(jeans, tshirts, hoody, jacket)

    christian audigier(jeans, tshirts, hoody) $13

    artful dodger(jeans, tshirts, hoody) $13

Have you ever checked out their websites (I never have, and never will)? Would you even consider purchasing products from these clowns? I'm certain that these jerks will find this question and post their spam, and I know they will never go away. Please post your feelings about this to let them know how you feel. If you don't have time to answer, give a star to the question. If they do see this, hopefully they will read the answers or see the stars and figure out that they're just wasting their time (and ours). If all goes well, they'll take the "Where can I watch MLB games for free on my laptop" weenies with them and just go away. Forever.

Thanks for letting me gripe. This is a great section with tons of knowledgeable baseball fans. I enjoy reading your opinions and answers, but these folks take a lot of the fun away.

  • Fun with words and vowels....... how many can you get?

Here are 9 questions about words with unique properties. First to get all 9 (or whoever gets the most) receives the 10 points. Good luck! (All are English words)

    1) There are 3 words which contain a, e, i, o and u (and only those 5 vowels) in order. Name one.

    2) The only 6 letter word containing all 5 vowels? (Hint - A rarely used medical term referring to a state of normal mental health.)

    3) The only common 7 letter word containing all 5 vowels?

    4) A 5 letter word with 4 vowels?

    5) The longest word with only 1 vowel (appearing once only)?

    6) The longest word spelled using only the top row of letters on a standard keyboard (it is sometimes hyphenated)?

    7) The longest common word which contains neither a, e, i, o or u?

    8) Easy one. The word with 3 consecutive sets of doubled letters?

    9) Very tough one. There are 3 15-letter words (all are reasonably well known and not obscure) that alternate between vowels and consonants. Name one.

  • Tom Brady sets another record......?

Most times leaving the field after a playoff loss without sticking around and congratulating the other team or quarterback.

He dissed Eli on the field before the game.

Spygate came back to bite the Patriots. Lady karma can be a beeyotch.

Now we don't have to worry about a tainted undefeated season. Maybe now the NFL will get to the bottom of the investigation and find out once and for all whether or not the Pats cheated this whole decade.
