Sir Bloodletter 4
I've been around the block a few times. I've pretty much done most of what a person can do in a life time. And when you've done as many things as I have, you can't help but learn a few things in the process. I am an expert in mechanics, business, travel, physics, chemistry, biology, relationships...you name it.
How about those Russians. Wow!?
They have exactly one all star level NBA guy. The rest are a couple of NBA bench sitters, Euroleague guys and a second tier Eurocup player.
No single person can carry a team through the entire Olympic tournament and win a medal, and Kirilenko didn't have to. Russia is a good basketball team.
How long before Euroleague is just as good as NBA? Do you think there are certain aspects about it that are already better?
4 AnswersBasketball9 years agoThe problem with the Lakers?
Nash and Gasol can still do what they do. Ron World Peace Artest can still do his thing. Dwight Howard at 85% is still the best center in the league.
Kobe doesn't know how to play basketball. He will tare his own team apart if he's not kept in check. Phil Jackson was able to do it, which is a testament to his greatness. Mike Krzyzewski is using him for what he's mentally cut out to be; a role player, which is what he was under Shaq when the Lakers were at their best.
How coach K gets him to accept that role I don't know, but if the Laker's coach can't do that, the Lakers will not win in the playoffs.
Sorry Laker fans. If Kobe can't resolve himself into a role player, it doesn't matter who you have on the team, Lakers championships = 0. I.e. Phil Jackson isn't walking through that door.
5 AnswersBasketball9 years agoSo the Celtics probably won't be a serious threat anymore by the time they start playing basketball again?
Do you think they'll at least be better than the Lakers?
7 AnswersBasketball10 years agoWhy all the hate for the WNBA?
There's nothing wrong with it, it just depends on the style of basketball you like to watch.
I personally, like to watch GOOD basketball, so I'm not a particular fan of the WNBA for that reason.
But to each his own, you know?
8 AnswersBasketball10 years agowhat is the value of 1/∞?
Some people think it's zero.
If that's the case, than what's (1/∞ )∞ ? It is clearly equal to 1.
But if 1/∞ = 0, than 0(∞ ) = 1? That's not right. 0(∞) = 0. The value of 1/∞ must be something infinitely small, but greater than zero.
Is it possible to have that? Something infinitely small but more than zero? How would you express that value? What if we decided to call it ε?
And finally, what is 1 - ε? Wouldn't it be 0.9 repeating? But the accepted definition of that string of numbers is 0.9 repeating = 1. So how would you write 1 - ε in decimal form?
4 AnswersMathematics10 years agoWhat if there was a huge tax on all fossil fuels?
I'm talking really outrageous, like $100.00 per gallon of gasoline, and a similar tax for electricity.
The tax would be on the user, not the electric company (because it's the user who would end up paying anyway) but force the electric company to offer electricity from carbon neutral sources, and set a max profit margin on electric sales to control the price.
We wouldn't regress back to pre industrial life styles, we would find other ways to accommodate our modern ones.
How quickly would people turn away from fossil fuels, and how quickly would the auto and energy industries shift to meet demand? And how soon would the initial shock of saying goodbye to fossil fuel, wear off and be forgotten?
13 AnswersAlternative Fuel Vehicles10 years agoWhat's with all those greedy lower income people not wanting tax increases?
Why should the rich people who can afford it pay their fair share when there are so many times more poor in this country due to republican policies? Poor people who out number rich people 30 to 1, are the ones who need to pay more taxes.
If you balance the budget by taxing the rich, then the economy pays for it 2 fold later on. Those are the laws of supply side economics, which works.
The only reason supply side economic policies have failed to produce economic growth even once in the history of man kind, is because it has not been executed to perfection because of all the damn liberals.
5 AnswersPolitics10 years agoWhat if you had two Michael Jordans, but no Scottie Pippen.?
Would it have been even more dominant? Or would the egos clash and actually make it worse?
What if you had 2 Pippens, but no Jordan?
5 AnswersBasketball10 years agoA question for Laker fans?
a) Do you live, or have you ever lived in LA, or do you have family from LA?
b) Were you a Laker fan before the start of the 1999-2000 season?
c) are you familiar with the term bandwagon?
5 AnswersBasketball10 years agoI haven't been able to prove it's impossible?
It's a material that converts ambient thermal energy into electrical energy and cools the air as it does it.
It would produce an electrical current and a stream of cold air as the air is blown through a stack of thin sheets of the material.
The material is a collection of molecular machines made primarily of carbon and a conducting metal, all bound in a matrix of carbon and a conducting metal. The machines each produce a tiny electrical impulse upon a collision with a molecule in the air. A small amount of the kinetic energy in the air molecule is lost in the collision. Each sheet contains a million billion trillion molecular machines.
The sheets are stacked in a wind tunnel that air is blown through. The exhaust is a large volume of extremely cold air and a large amount of electricity is produced.
As far as I know, it doesn't violate any laws of physics even though it's operation seems to be counter intuitive.
Anyone want to help prove this is impossible?

1 AnswerHockey1 decade agoAtheists, try answering THESE questions if you think you're so smart?
1) If there is no god, then who wrote the bible? Think about that. Think. We know the Bible is the word of god, because it says so right there in the Bible itself.
2) Who created the universe? Having been created means there is a creator, and the only thing that can exist without having been created, is god.
3) If complexity is built up through natural selection over billions of years by harnessing energy from the sun, why doesn't a new life form ever emerge from a jar of peanut butter when you open it up?
23 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoI just turned on Sports Center and what do you think the top story is?
That's right!
Obviously, how could you talk about anything else: The NFL lock out.
After that: Dirk Nowitzki
Then: Derik Jeter on the DL.
Isn't there something else, that might be just a little bit more important than the Yankees short stop, in the pivotal game number 66 of a 162 game season?
13 AnswersHockey1 decade agoHow's that Miami bandwagon doing?
All those Miami fans, just doing it because it's so popular and for all the attention and glory you get from being on the side that's winning.
Fccken bandwagon Miami fans! (sarcasm)
Is there anyone here even willing to come out of the closet and admit you're still a Miami fan?
14 AnswersBasketball1 decade agoWho said the following quote?
"We fought hard, you know they were the better team...We wanna be where they are, but we still gotta wait our turn, we're still trying to improve our team. They were the better team and they played better today...You know, I'm disappointed...But I gotta accept the season that we played, we had a good season, we got this far, we gotta look forward to next season, that's the only thing we can do."
Hint: It was in 1990.
4 AnswersBasketball1 decade agoWhy does Dwyane Wade get all the credit for 2006?
Anybody remember a little guy by the name of Shaquille O'Neal? All NBA center the last 9 years, except for 1 year. And who do you think that 1 other all NBA center was, must have been pretty good right? Alonzo Mourning, who incidentally played back up for big Shaq.
I guess nobody remembers how good Antoine Walker was. He had been a 30 minute per game, 20 point, 9 rebound guy before he went to Miami. But Miami didn't need to start him, because they had a freakishly atheletic power forward named Udonis Haslem.
You think they didn't have a floor general to run the offense? Only one of the best of all time, Gary Payton, but they didn't even need to start him most of the time, because they had another all star caliber piont guard, named Jason Williams.
They also rounded out the roster well with quality role players, guys who knew their roles and did exactly what was needed, like James Posey and Michael Doleac.
Those guys all knew their roles, and were resolved to doing them because of the hall of fame coaching of one mister Pat Riley.
So stop saying that Wade "single handedly" won a championship ring. He did no such thing. He was an integral part of the team, yes.
But Wade's role on that 2006 team was barely larger than Kobe's role on the 2000-2002 Lakers.
6 AnswersBasketball1 decade agoWhat if Celtic fans acted like Heat fans?
Half of them would argue that Pierce is better than Allen, and the other half would argue that Allen is better, as if it matters.
Some of them would be upset that Keven Garnett was not finals MVP while others would disrespect Kevin Garnett for it, non fans would laugh at all Celtics fans because that "proves Peirce is the 'batman' of the team"
Celtics fans would constantly repeat things like "it's Peirce's team" or "Peirce is the true leader of that team" or "Peirce is the Batman and Garnett is the Robin."
Garnett came in and changed the culture, Peirce was finals MVP and nobody is the slightest bit upset. Nobody feels the need to defend Kevin Garnett's honor or throw hate at him because he was not MVP of the finals. They're just thrilled the team is together and winning.
What's wrong with Heat fans?
3 AnswersBasketball1 decade agowho is going to win the finals now?
After game 1 I was certain is was going to be the Mavericks, because they played so poorly and still were right in the game up until the end. I knew they would play better after the feeling out, and gauging the Heat defense.
But now, after game 2, I'm pretty sure it's going to be the Heat. The Mavericks can't rely on spectacular finishes against all odds to win a series. The Heat gave that one away, and I don't see that happening again.
3 AnswersBasketball1 decade agoWhat's wrong with my GMC Sonoma?
It's a year 2000 with the 4.3 V6.
It starts and idles fine, and if you're light on the throttle it seams to run fine.
But you can't open the throttle beyond like 30%, or else the power cuts out and the rpms die down until you let up off the gas pedal.
The check engine light in the dash is on.
