  • Are copper wires touching very bad?

My refrigerator stopped working. Tech number one came out and fixed it. He changed the compressor. A few days later the refrigerator stopped working once again. This time, before it stopped working, it tripped the kitchen breaker cutting electricity to the whole kitchen and the computer board (the green board with little silver things on it) fried with a burn pattern on it. Before the board burned, there was a loud pop, odd smell and sizzle noise. A new board was put in later that day and it too immediately sparked and burned. Tech one said to unplug it, soon left to figure out the problem and than he never returned to any more work. Tech two is called and he comes out. He told me the unit is shot and not to ever plug it in again. The copper wires were touching and that wasn't good. He also told me the unit was shot and shouldn't have been worked on at all, it should have been replaced because that would be cheaper, safer and easier than repair. Here is my question, was the copper wire problem really serious? I know tech one's company will not give me my money back for parts or the labor, but I think the service call should be refunded. If the situation is serious or the unit was shot from the get go, I think that would only be fair. If this wire thing is no big deal, then I will let the whole service call refund go. Okay, I think my situation has been explained well enough. In a nutshell, here's my question: how bad was this copper wire touching problem? Is it worth my time to pursue a refund for tech one's service call? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

  • Military Income Tax ?

If you are a Texas resident and join the military, do you have to pay Louisiana state tax? The Texas residency is kept the whole time stationed in Louisiana. The tax form was sent to the revenue department in Austin. On the return, it is stated the residency is Texas and the filer is in the military. Also, the majority of that year was spent deployed in a tax free zone. Everything was seemingly filed right. Why would the state claim they're owed tax four years later? Any ideas anyone?

  • Deputy Chief force protection, what is it?

Does anyone know what a Deputy Chief of Force Protection in the military does? I think the man's uniform was either an Army or a USAF camo colored suit. Thanks!

  • My new shelter cat seems to have problems with Rat Ulcers and fluid build up in leg?

We just got a cat from the shelter less than a month ago. He is a large orange male about 5 years old. With in two weeks, he developed a huge Rodent Ulcer on one side of the mouth. The vet treated it with a steroid shot and medicine. Less than a week after the ulcer healing( today), his back leg is swelling and he is limping. His mouth looks red again. I think the chin is getting puffy. I read about the ulcers online. In many articles, it mentions they could be apart of an underlying condition. I take the cat back to the vet later. Does anyone have any ideas about Rodent Ulcers, fluid filled lumps on cats legs and a possible genetic link? Thank you so much.
