My new shelter cat seems to have problems with Rat Ulcers and fluid build up in leg?

We just got a cat from the shelter less than a month ago. He is a large orange male about 5 years old. With in two weeks, he developed a huge Rodent Ulcer on one side of the mouth. The vet treated it with a steroid shot and medicine. Less than a week after the ulcer healing( today), his back leg is swelling and he is limping. His mouth looks red again. I think the chin is getting puffy. I read about the ulcers online. In many articles, it mentions they could be apart of an underlying condition. I take the cat back to the vet later. Does anyone have any ideas about Rodent Ulcers, fluid filled lumps on cats legs and a possible genetic link? Thank you so much.

First and foremost-keep your relationship with your vet and get that leg checked! Could be a seperate infection not related to the ulcers. I am not a vet but my experience with Rodent Ulcers is this: Sometimes it can be brought on by allergies. First things first: are you feeding your cat from a plastic bowl, sometimes plastic causes a reaction in a cat's face making thier tendancy for ulcers worse. Switch to glass or stainless steel bowls. Secondly has your cat been checked for any auto immune diseases such as Feline Leukemia? I would assume the shelter did a test for that. If not have your vet run one. Second cats can be prone to food allergies which can cause all kinds of issues in cats. If you are feeding a food with any form of corn product switch to a food without. Try Fromm Gold, Blue Buffalo, Wellness, or Purina Selects dry food. Same goes for canned. Purina Selects makes a relatively reasonably priced corn free canned food. Stay with chicken or turkey based foods. Rodent ulcers are controllable but you need to work with your vet to find the trigger. It is a condition similar to people prone to canker sores. When the cat is stressed or run down due to allergies, illness etc he will have an out break. The above are easy places to start and are pretty easy to do. Thanks for giving a shelter kitty his forever home. Good luck.

precise, before everything, undesirable you, feels like your female pal is annoying lots. yet on the different hand possibly you should be somewhat extra annoying your self. She says you provide her too lots freedom, possibly by employing that she ability which you should be much less quiet and truly take the lead each so in many circumstances. Say if she's in simple terms randomly made a plan to circulate out ask her to stay in with you rather, do no longer tension her to choose or something yet permit her be attentive to which you fairly prefer her to be there with you're making verbal substitute, ask her questions, it shows which you’re listening and which you care approximately what she has to assert somewhat than in simple terms listening for the sake of it Aw it seems such as you have have been given the actual section there, and the certainty which you dont prefer to lose her is incredible - tell her this - tell her each hazard you get how lots you adore her, it will make her sense good approximately herself and your love! maximum of all, consult together with her relating to the way you sense, each little thing you'v written right here, she must be attentive to how lots you shelter her and how you dont prefer to lose her, it will make her think of two times. good success x
