  • What should I know before getting in-dash Navigation?

I am purchasing a 2010 Chevy Malibu next month and I am wanting to install in-dash navigation with bluetooth. The reason being is I'm driving from St. Louis, MO to Portland, OR in August by myself and want to have the most reliable navigation. I don't want to have to read a map, since I'll be alone, and I cannot rely on my IPhone navigation because I have Sprint and who knows when I'll lose service driving half way across the country. I am not a fan of things mounted on my windshield or sitting on top of my dash. Hence the reason for in-dash. Since I've been researching different systems, I keep seeing lots of them saying the navigation works only with IPhone apps, like Garmin or Telenav. That would defeat the purpose of purchasing this. Are there any good systems with built-in navigation that does not require an app? It would be even better if I could find one that I could even program a specific route into. I also have to have bluetooth and one that I can plug my IPhone into. I want to be able to make wireless calls, direct Siri and stream audio while I'm driving. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Also, don't be a sarcastic a**hole. I don't know why people are sarcastic a**holes on this site. It's annoying and I'll just ignore your answer.

  • Effects of folic acid deficiency?

I just got of off birth control due to the side effects I was experiencing. One of them was chest pains and shortness of breath. I was experiencing this mainly during my workouts (while I'm running) and after my workouts. I was never able to catch my breath. I know I'm not out of shape because I've been running and playing soccer for years and didn't start having this issue until I started the pill back in June of 2011. I've read that being on the pill can cause folic acid deficiency. One of the side effects of that is shortness of breath. Does folic acid deficiency make cardio more difficult? Or could that just be because of the pill I was taking? I bought folic acid tablets (400mcg) tonight and am going to start taking them in a few days once the hormones from the pill are out of my body. I'm just wanting to know if the deficiency that I could potentially have causes breathing problems.

  • What happens when I stop birth control?

I've been on 3 different types of birth control for almost a year now. I am sexually active, but the main reason I'm on it is to control my crazy periods. I'm currently on Seasonique and actually really love it. No periods or major side effects. The only complaint I have is I've gained about 10lbs and can't lose it. Lately, I've been sort of freaked out by the possible future side effects bc will have on my body. But I'm actually terrified about what's going to happen to my body once/if I stop taking it. Anyone ever have any major issues after stopping birth control? How long did it take for them to go away?

  • Why am I so hungry? I went running this morning.?

I'm a 23 year old female, 5ft tall and 125 lbs. I work out about 3 times a week for 1 1/2. My workouts are always right after I get off work at 5pm. During the day I eat really healthy and I'm never hungry. I load up on fruits, veggies, and both whey and soy protein. I decided to start doing 2-a-days recently. I plan on doing my regular workout after work, but in addition to that, running for about 30 minutes when I wake up. I knew this would boost my metabolism by doing this, but I am seriously starving today. Before I ran this morning, I made a fruit smoothie with coconut oil and whey protein in it. Before I left for work, I had my typical bowl of cereal and soy milk. Since I've gotten here, I've down three bottles of water, two soy bars, and two handfuls of crackers. Nothing is filling me up and I don't eat lunch for another two hours. Is it typical for a morning workout to boost my metabolism this much? And what can I do or eat to make me feel fuller?

  • Problems using Siri on IPhone 4S?

I just bought the IPhone 4S a week ago. I purchased it mainly for Siri. She works great and is really helpful, unless I'm speaking to her through my mic on my headphones. (I use my headphones while I'm at work since we're not allowed to have our phones out. It's easier to control my music this way. I'm using the headphones that Apple provided with my phone.) She hears me just fine when I tell her to turn on my music or read the new text message. But if I tell her to text someone or call someone she can't understand me. I'll have to repeat the command 5 or 6 times and talk slowly to make her hear me. And when she finally hears that I want to send the text to someone, getting her to understand what I want it to say is almost impossible. The thing I really don't understand is she understands me just fine in my car when I have her plugged in to my stereo. Anyone else have this problem or know what I'm doing wrong?

  • How to convert IPhone videos. Apple expert please!?

I filmed a 3 minute long video on my IPhone 4S this morning. The video is 410.3 MB. I uploaded it through IPhoto on my MacBook Air and the video is playing through QuickTime Player. I want to email this video to a few friends. What's the easiest way to convert or compress this video to make it compatible with their computers or so it doesn't take so long to email? I want to avoid downloading any software to do this if that's possible.

  • CHEAP, CHEAP CHEAP vacation spots?

My boyfriend and I got invited on a vacation with his best friend's family in June. They have two beach front properties rented out and we were both going to pay $100 a piece to cover the fees. Food and gas would be at our own expense. (we live in St. Louis, and we're driving to South Carolina) So I figured for the whole week, it would cost us about $400-$500 a piece, considering extra stuff, like water sports, bike rentals, a restaurant or two and shopping. Well we found out today that his friend might not be able to get off of work, which means we won't be going. My boyfriend suggested that we go somewhere else in case this falls through. I don't want to spend anymore than I had originally planned because two weeks after I get back, I'm leaving again on my family's vacation. (to the same destination, ironically.) Is there anywhere that we could go that is in a tropical climate for that price? He wants to go out of the country, like the Bahamas. But I told him unless we find a crazy, incredibly cheap package or website, that won't be happening. I've looked on all of the travel sites and have found really affordable trips that include all-inclusive hotel + round trip flight. But none that I can save up for by June. The cheapest place I've found is Cancun. Even if we went for 3-4 nights, that would be cool. Any other suggestions though??

  • How to remove scratches from a countertop?

A bottle of superglue leaked and dried to my boyfriend's apartment bathroom counter top. I soaked it in nail polish remover for 2 days and periodically worked on it until I got (most of it) off. There's still a little bit stuck on there, but even worse, there's scratches from me working on it. They're not too bad, just surface scratches, but it's enough for him to lose his deposit when he moves out in a few months. I think the countertops are laminate. (I'm not sure exactly what they are. I know they're smooth, usually pastel-colored ones that apartment complex's use.) Is there a product I can use that I use that will remove the scratches but not ruin the counter's finish? Something cheap that I can order online or buy at the hardware store?

  • Hair color emergency?

I'm 23 years old. I've been dying my hair on my own since I was 13. I usually experiment with different shades of brunettes. My hair was a medium brown with lots of caramel highlights. I wanted to dye it an all-over dark brown for the winter. I used Nice and Easy Medium Ash Brown. I was stupid and forgot to make sure the color in the box matched the outside of the box. I'm pretty sure the wrong color was inside of the box and my hair definitely came out way too dark. It's so dark that I can't tell if it's darkest brown or black. In the bathroom lighting, I can see brownish tones, so I'm thinking that it's brown. Either way, it's too dark. My hairstylist said she can do a shampoo cap to strip the color and then I can re-dye it. But that's money I don't want to spend and damage I don't want to do to my hair. (I have curly hair, so it's naturally dry. Plus I dye it every 3 or 4 months, and I don't want to damage it anymore.) I washed it a few times already with Prell shampoo, which is supposed to fade the color. It did nothing. What can I do to fade it a little bit before Thanksgiving when I'm going to see my whole family and lots of friends?

  • I need a MAN'S opinion please. Someone in their late 20s.....?

I've been dating my boyfriend for about 7 months now. Things are going great between us. We've talked about moving in together. We're planning a vacation this summer. I need my space just as much as he needs his, so I don't obsess over him whenever we're not together. I'm not the jealous girlfriend type, and I'm ok with sitting at his place on a Friday night while he's out with his friends. Our sex life is great. We both agreed that it's very healthy. He's very sweet to me. He goes out of his way to make me happy sometimes, and I do the same for him. He tells me that he's very happy with the way things are going between us.

But I can't help but feel that sometimes I'm not enough for him. Sometimes when he's sitting next to me texting or on his Facebook, I notice that there's conversations between him and his ex's in there. I never read them or ask about them, because I trust him. But he has told me nothing but bad things about them. So why is he still talking to them? Recently, I got a Facebook message from one of his ex's (pretending to be someone else) telling me that he's been talking to her behind my back for months, and he told her that him and I aren't dating. I asked him about it and he was pissed that she would try to ruin things between us. Then he told me a few days later that he's known for months that she's wanted to get back together with him, and she texts him late at night sometimes. I guess my question is, why is it when a guy finds a great girl who isn't jealous, obsessive, clingy, slutty, and just crazy about him, that he still wants attention from other girls? Every guy I've dated has cheated on me, and trust me, knowing that you're not the only one is a shitty feeling. I feel like I'm doing something wrong here. Is this normal behavior from every guy and I just need to deal with it? Or do I need to talk to him about it? I just feel that I deserve to feel the same way I'm trying to make him feel. Like he's the only one for me.

  • Dinner ideas for my boyfriend's birthday?

My boyfriend lives on his own, and the only thing he knows how to cook that's close to 'gourmet food' is chicken parmesan with angel hair pasta. So that's usually what are dinners are when he cooks for me. His 26th birthday is next week and I wanted to make him something different. I decided on Parmesan Crusted Bruschetta Chicken. I don't know what to make him for his side dish though. I don't want to make him angel hair pasta like we usually eat. I am planning on making homemade garlic bread, but what could I do for a side dish? He really like rice, but I don't know if that would go with the Italian food. He also hates vegetables, which makes this difficult. If you can suggest a pasta that isn't going to be very filling, that would work too. Also, what kind of wine would go with these foods? Anything is helpful!

ps- For dessert, I'm making him a homemade chocolate cheesecake, so I don't need any dessert suggestions. :)
