I'm writing a scene in which someone orders two glasses of ale from a bar. Usually I would have had the character say "two beers," but since it's ale this time I'm having a hard time with the phrasing. "Two ales" doesn't sound right, and "two glasses of ale" seems too stiff for the situation. Does anyone know the correct way to order two ales from a pub without coming off as a total knob?

A week ago at work I experienced a jolt of pain in my neck, a few minutes afterwards I noticed my left collar bone was jutting out a little further than my right. I was worried but there didn t seem to be any pain at the time and I figured it would move back in place eventually (I know, that s stupid right?). Well, it s been about a week or so and now suddenly there this sharp pain under my left arm (more towards the back near the ribs) that occurs every time it gets touched just right. My collar bone is still protruding a little and I m wondering what the hell this could be?

I was going to see a doctor soon anyways, but I d like to know if anybody else might have some ideas about this? Maybe someone s been through this kind of thing?

I bought a 15$ gift card for what I assumed was $15 DLC for a game on xbox live. So when I go to purchase it, it turns out there's tax.... on dlc... TAX. So to get this straight, I can't buy a $15 gift card (which also had tax btw) to get something advertized as $15. I have to buy at LEAST a $25 gift card.... because.... tax..... on dlc...

So I know how futile my position is here, and sorry for the rant, but I guess I need to know whether or not I can spend the $15 gift card and then pay any ridiculously uncalled-for remaining amount with another method?

Or

If my brother has the dlc on his account, can I transfer it to mine somehow (Note: we both have our accounts on the same profile so I'm not sure if that "License transfer" thing would work.)

ANY help would be greatly appreciative... I'm just fed-up with all of microsoft's crap lately.

I've been writing a webcomic for years (4 years to be exact) and have got every single aspect of it finished. I've got an entire notebook filled with everything you could ever want to know about the story and have already written HUNDREDS of scripts for the comic. And now, after having to wait so many years, I'm weeks away from being able to see those scripts come to life. This should be the most exciting thing to ever happen to me, right? Well, it would be if I didn't come up with the single greatest new comic idea only 6 months ago... It's the most creative and wonderful thing I've ever thought up! My first comic doesn't even compare to how great this one could be. Ever since I had the idea, all I can do is write about it, and it comes so naturally to me. I've never felt this good about something I've written. Everyday I come up with new, fantastic Ideas. And unlike the first comic, this one is completely unique, no other story like it out there.

So, as you can probably tell, I'm very conflicted here. Should I give up on the comic I've been writing for years to focus on this new one that I've fallen in love with? Even if it means I would have to start all over from scratch? Or should I publish my first comic (which I still love) and wait to release the new one? I'm sure many writers have gone through this same sort of conundrum, so I would love to hear how you handled it and, if all possible, how it turned out for you.

Hey there, you computer savvy ner- I mean people. I was wondering if it was possible to start creating a website (Installing scripts and such) without first transfering a domain name to a host? I have Dreamhost and my domain name was purchased on Godaddy, but they wont let me transfer it for two months! I mean... Whadafukisupwitdat? Anyways... My domain IS on dreamhost it just says "unknown" under registration if that means anything.

Also, if I CAN start creating the website, should I wait for the trial period to end and the subscription to kick-in? And would it even be wise to create a website that didn't have a domain name for the first few months? What are the ramifications for such a thing?

Any help would be appreciated!

I don't think you can truly be a good person until you do something bad.

Here me out.

You know your a good person because you do good things, and the same reasoning can be used to describe bad people. When a bad person does something bad, they don't care. And when a good person does something bad, well... they feel bad about it.

That being said, when a bad person does something good (intentionally) they feel good about it. So wouldn't it make sense that only from doing bad things, then gauging how you felt from the act, determines if you are a bad or good person?

"You don't have to be a bad person to do bad things" but do you have to do bad things to know if you're a good person?

I have a sketch that I need to upload to the internet. It's a sketch done with ink and watercolors so the paper is a little wrinkled (And thinker than regular printing paper if that counts for anything?), will that effect it? I'm planning on ordering a DC comic series for a year and I need to know which website is the most reliable.

I'm doing some research for a project in my Comparative Religions class and I need a good 25 pages from the New Testament to read and analyze. Anything where Jesus talks about being kind to people and loving one another would be great, but I'm not sure where that part is (Or any part for that matter). Or if there is some other great part I'm happy to take suggestions. I just need the specific passage and I'll take it from there.

Are there any creatures or demons or even heroes from any cultural lore and legend that has four arms? I know about the hindu gods and goddess' but I cant use any of those or I might offend someone. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm meeting a guy for coffee today at a starbucks and well... I hate coffee. I think it tastes like hot dirt. So since I'm going to starbucks and they have a wide variety of things that shouldn't be called coffee (or so i heard) I was wondering what kind of beverage would be best for me and which ones I should stay away from.

I'm Bisexual, they have known this for a few years. They are constantly using the F word around me they use gay as an adjective for bad. I've told them how I feel about it, they don't seem to care. My best friend that I've know since we were children does all of these things too. They don't think being gay is wrong or bad but they still act like children who just learned a bad word and can't stop using it.

Today I confronted him (politely) while he was doing this and he goes on this rant about "getting over it" and "everyone has to deal with prejudice" and "I should go back in the closet if I don't like it" I know he was in a bad mood but this finally did it for me and I left.

So I guess what I'm asking is what now? I don't want to be around people who don't seem to try to care, who don't mind if I feel like crap when they do this. But I don't want to lose this friendship I've had with them for years. Has anyone here ever dealt with this kind of thing?

I've started developing a sidekick for my hero that is going to be introduced later in the series. I need to know how old these sidekicks are when they start out. I'm guessing 15-16? I know I need to be careful in this area, a lot of people get perverted ideas.
