Would you consider Andrew Luck a bust?
The colts got rid of Manning for Luck to take over as his successor, and Luck was considered one of the best draft prospects at the time. When Luck played he was a good QB but he was hurt a lot and has now retired early. No superbowls. Would he be considered a bust? He did have some good seasons but didn’t nearly live up to the expectations
5 AnswersFootball (American)2 years agoIs it legal to put up a berm to divert water from neighbors driveway going onto my property?
Two of my neighbors have a shared paved drive which leads to both of their stone driveways. During heavy rain, a whole bunch of water comes off my one neighbors driveway, down the paved drive, and goes off the side onto my property. It always washes stone into my lawn which I have to clean up and the excessive water makes it downhill and washes out my gravel drive. I want to install a berm so the water stays in the paved drive but don’t know if I can get in trouble for that
5 AnswersGarden & Landscape2 years agoCan you refinance a mortgage to include the purchase of an adjacent lot?
I have a home that I currently have a mortgage on, and it’s to my understanding that you can’t finance land. I was wondering if I can somehow add property next to mine as part of my mortgage since it would all be the same property if purchased.
8 AnswersRenting & Real Estate2 years agoIs there any way to calculate the force required to remove the lid of a chamber under vacuum?
Where I work we have vacuum chambers which are about 20’ in diameter and around 2,000 cubic feet. When under vacuum, they’re under 1 militorr, which is almost perfect vacuum. The lids of the chamber simply rest on top. Someone at my work and myself were curious if someone accidentally tried to lift the lid under vacuum, if the crane would actually lift it (15 ton capacity). I don’t know if there’s a mathematical formula to calculate this?
2 AnswersEngineering2 years agoDoes Trump automatically become the republican nominee in 2020 if he doesn’t get impeached?
I’m a republican that doesn’t like trump and I’m sure he has almost no shot at winning the next one, which concerns me, because if he’s the republican nominee that will mean the democrat would automatically win.
Would he automatically be the nominee? And if it isn’t automatic, do you think it would likely or unlikely that the Republican Party would endorse a different candidate? I guess a third option would be someone running for libertarian possibly standing a chance.
10 AnswersPolitics3 years agoIs it bad to shield a child from bulling?
I was reading comments on a parent forum, and parents were talking about how they switched schools for their kids or homeschool them due to bullying. I don’t really think this is the right approach. I was bullied heavily in middle school, and my parents told me to toughen up. This was actually beneficial, because I found ways to combat it, and I haven’t been bullied since. Now as an adult, there’s still many bullies out there, and since I know how to handle it, I never have any issues. I feel like shielding kids from bullying is setting them up for failure later in life.
13 AnswersParenting3 years agoHow is painting yourself black for a skit considered racist?
At my college every year they do skits making fun of all the professors. This includes dressing like the professors, so people always stick pillows under their shirts when they are playing a heavy person, dress like a girl if they’re playing a female. This past year there was major controversy because someone playing a black professor painted themselves black.
I don’t get how that’s racist. In the actual skit, they weren’t making fun of the professor because he was black, the only reason they painted themselves black was to look like the professor, just like they always look like the others.
6 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups3 years agoHow is it not discrimination to ask for someone’s race on job applications, and hire for reporting purposes?
I always find it ironic that companies post that they do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, religion, etc, yet most job applications ask for your race. There’s obviously a reason for that question, because if they truely do not discriminate, they’ll interview the most qualified people who apply so that shouldn’t matter.
Also, for a couple jobs, I was told by the companies HR that they’re strictly looking for minority candidates. Isn’t that discrimination, since they’re looking for a certain race rather then most qualified?
I don’t know how something like this never went to the Supreme Court.
12 AnswersLaw & Legal3 years agoDo you think the patriots faked tom Brady’s hand injury?
I saw a report considering this a possibility and it makes sense. It sounds like the media hasn’t actually seen his hand, so it could just be a way of trying to get the jags to prepare for Brian Hoyer who won’t actually play.
27 AnswersFootball (American)3 years agoDo politics tend to trend the same way in other countries as they do in the US?
As far as democrats being against everything republicans do and Republicans being against everything democrats do, although both parties are actually very similar. And people supporting their own party whether they agree with them or not.
7 AnswersPolitics3 years agoAm I better off dropping all my car insurance except liability at this point?
I have a 2013 Kia Forte, which is currently valued at about $5-6k. I had a full insurance package because it was financed, but now it’s payed off. The full package costs me $2,000 a year, and if I got just liability it would probably be $300-400. I just think it’s dumb to pay half the cars value in insurance just for one year
14 AnswersInsurance & Registration3 years agoIf someone pays another person to steal things for them, who gets the greater charge?
There’s someone I know who was paying someone to steal things for them. The person who was stealing things ended up getting caught. Assuming he rats the guy out who was paying him, who gets the bigger charge?
1 AnswerLaw & Ethics3 years agoDo you think that the “catch” rule is worse for the NFL then kneeling for the anthem?
There’s so many undefined things about completing a catch and you never know what should or shouldn’t be a catch. It almost makes the games seem rigged
6 AnswersFootball (American)3 years agoWas not getting signed actually the best case scenario for Kaepernick?
If he got signed, he would probably be a backup QB somewhere, receive some attention for awhile, then kind of be an afterthought. Since he hasn’t been signed, he’s become idolized, receives lots of money in other forms (ie book signings), and if he wins his court case he might become the highest paid player in the league, and not even have to worry about getting tackled. It seems like not being signed actually worked a lot in his favor
5 AnswersFootball (American)3 years agoIf a private college accepts government grants, would they have to change certain policies?
The college I graduated from has been supported by private funding since 1888. It’s unique in the fact that it’s a boys only school and has mandatory chapel among other things. They sent out a letter saying that they’re considering accepting government grants, two specifically. If they accept these grants, would they have to start accepting girls and eliminate the chapel service?
Government3 years agoWhat happened to Denver’s defense?
They’ve been on of the best defenses the past few years, and early this year there was all the “no fly zone” hype. Right now they look like the worst defense in the league, you can’t even blame poor quarterback play anymore. Did losing Wade Phillips make them fall apart?
4 AnswersFootball (American)4 years agoAt what distance is it generally considered ok to have high beams on behind someone?
Tonight I was driving on the highway and someone passed me. Once he was far away, and I mean like at least a half mile, I turned my high beams back on. A few minutes later the guy slowed down, starting riding beside me and cursing me out. He said it’s “rude” that I had my high beams on. Is this considered rude? I thought that’s why your mirror is designed to flip.
4 AnswersPolls & Surveys4 years agoHas Drew Brees been the most underrated QB over the past decade?
I always forget about Drew Brees myself because you never hear about him. All Tom Brady has to do is throw 3 tds in a regular season game and he makes headlines. I’ve looked at Drew Brees numbers and he puts up monster numbers every year, and he’s 38 and still going strong (Tom Brady receives all the hype for being an elite “old guy”). Drew Brees is never in the GOAT talks, never in mvp talks. The only thing he doesn’t have is a lot of rings, but he’s been with one of the worst teams of the decade.
9 AnswersFootball (American)4 years agoAre online job applications a waste of time?
I’ve applied for about 20 jobs online, and about 5 through a career fair. I’m 0/20 online, never even had anyone follow up, and I’ve been 4/5 at career fairs where they physically talked with me and took an application. I’ve also had recruiters at career fairs take my resume but told me to apply online, and I never heard anything from those jobs. The jobs I applied for weren’t unrealistic either, I was qualified and they were pretty much entry level. Do employers even look at online applications?
4 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment4 years agoAre injuries more common now in the nfl or is it about the same?
I’m young so I’ve only paid close attention to the sport in the past 5 years or so. It seems like there’s more and more injuries every year, even with the nfl making the game softer. I know concussions weren’t really taken seriously back in the day so I won’t count those, but it seems like there’s so many acl injures, broken feet, broken collarbones.
