  • Missed two birth control pills in last week?

I missed two birth control pills in a row last week, and wasn't sure what to do about it. I took two as soon as I remembered, and the last one in the pack the next day, so now I'm on my withdrawal week. I know I'm not pregnant now because I haven't had sex in a few weeks. I'll start the next pack on monday, and I'll see my boyfriend on thursday... will I be protected or should I use condoms as well? I think it should be fine, but I'm just a little concerned... any advice would be greatly appreciated!

  • What's the cheapest way to get to Frankfurt from London?

I'm looking to go to Frankfurt in August, but I want it to be as cheap as possible! It seems that the bus is about £85, but I just want to make sure that's the cheapest way to do it. Also, I'd like to go to Amsterdam sometime this summer, would it be cheaper to go straight from there to Frankfurt, rather than going from London? The train is really expensive, and I can't seem to find any buses, so I'm not sure.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • Why has my user profile disappeared?

I have a dell inspiron laptop, and the other day I bought a new charger for it because the old one broke. It worked fine and charged up my laptop, but when I turned it on today, I got a message saying that it couldn't load my user profile. All my documents, pictures, etc, have vanished, the laptop seems to have completely reset itself. I don't know if it's to do with the new charger or not, but I don't know what else it could be. Please help, I want all my stuff back!

  • Problem with my cat's hair?

My two year old cat has a weird thing with her hair. It seems shorter and rougher around the base of her tail, I'm not sure if it's falling out, as it's not bald, but it's lighter in colour, shorter, and rougher. I'm pretty sure it's nothing serious as she seems perfectly happy and normal. I read somewhere that it may be an allergic reaction to flea bites. Is this true?

  • What gender degus should I get?

I'm planning to get a pair of degus for my school animal house, and I've been reading up on them. Every website says that they need company, so I want a pair, but I can't find any information about what gender they should be. Would two males fight? A male and a female? Two females? What's the best combination?

  • Red eyes and sore throat?

In the past few days, my eyes have been looking quite red and bloodshot. This has never happened before, and I have never suffered from hay fever or anything like that. I've just ignored it, because it hasn't been painful. It's a bit annoying though, especially as I wake up every morning with my eyes stuck together. They're very sticky and gooey in the mornings. Then suddenly, yesterday I started getting a very croaky voice. By this morning my voice was completely gone, which is strange because I haven't been shouting at all or talking more than usual. I have a slight cough and sore throat, and my eyes are becoming more uncomfortable. What's causing this?

  • My sister is having problems with bugs?

My sister has been finding tiny little black insects in her bed and on her body. We thought they were fleas because we have two cats, but they don't jump at all. We don't think they are bedbugs either, because they seem to be smaller. They are just about visible, and they're black. Can anyone help?

  • Dutch Eighteenth Century Fashion?

I know that French and English fashions were quite different during the eighteenth century, with the French sack back gown and the English open gown. But was Dutch fashion more influenced by the French or the English? Or was it different again? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've looked into it on the internet but I've found very little information.

  • Why is my cat dribbling?

My two year old cat came to me for attention this morning, and was being extremely affectionate as she sometimes is in the mornings. She was enjoying the attention a lot, purring and rolling over, etc. And then I noticed that she was drooling, something she's never done before. There was so much of it, it was all over her whiskers. She just came back to me again and I noticed that she had dribble on her paws. Is this normal? She's never done this before, but she seems perfectly happy and healthy.

  • What's your favourite vampire book?

I love Anne Rice's books, personally. Lestat is one of my all time favourite characters. <3 But Dracula was pretty good too, despite the anticlimactic ending. What do you think?

And please don't keep harping on about Twilight, I'm so sick of it. Stephenie Meyer took lots of her ideas from Anne Rice anyway, which annoys me a lot. >:(

  • Theists - what do you think of this prayer experiment?

There was once an experiment to find out whether sick patients would recover faster if they were prayed for or not. The patients were split into three groups. Group one received prayers and didn't know it, group two received no prayers and didn't know it, and group three received prayers and did know it. Prayers were delivered by the congregations of three churches.

There was absolutely no difference between the patients who were prayed for and the patients who weren't. But the patients who knew they were being prayed for had more complications in their illnesses, because of the additional stress of knowing that people were praying for them.

So what do you think of this experiment? I'm not trying to put down anyone's religion, I'm just curious. How does prayer work? Does God simply not listen to everyone's prayers?

  • Spayed cat with a male friend?

I have a female cat who is almost two years old, who had a litter of kittens quite a while ago. We loved having kittens, but we didn't think it fair on her to have more, so we got her spayed. But now, the father of the previous kittens has been hanging around the house, and today we found the two cats together inside the house, and he sprayed. We only have the one female cat, and one other older male cat, both of who have been done, so why is she acting like this? And why is the male cat interested? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

  • Introducing a new Chinchilla?

I work with animals, and we have a couple of chinchillas in separate cages (Both female, so we can't house them together). But the older one seems depressed and lonely ever since her father died a while ago. She's very quiet and spends most of her time in the cage sitting still, and she doesn't eat so much. Should we get her a mate? If we do, what would be the best way of introducing him? She's very easygoing, so I think she'd accept him, but I'm not so sure as she's been alone for quite a while. Any advice?
