Las Vegas--Excalibur vs. The Orleans?
Which is better for families (stuff for kids to do)? Knowing that Las Vegas is an adult playground, which of these 2 hotels offers better stuff for kids to do? Vegas will just be our base while we take several day trips and visit family from there in June.
Also, how terrible is the traffic on the strip by the Excalibur.
Would love some responses from people who recently visited Vegas with kids.
Thanks!!
12 AnswersLas Vegas1 decade agoLas Vegas--Stratosphere or Excalibur for Families?
I'm trying to decide between hotels for a family vacation. Please give honest opinions and be specific about the good and the bad, whether it's about the staff, pool, parking, rooms, location, etc. Thanks!
12 AnswersLas Vegas1 decade agoLooking for Oakland airport shuttle recommendations.?
I know it would be cheaper to take BART but will be traveling with small child and several pieces of luggage. I've read several bad reviews of some of the shuttle services and I am looking for some honest recommendations for companies to either use or stay away from. We need a shuttle that goes from Oakland airport to San Francisco, Union Square area.
Also, any taxi cab companies in Oakland and San Francisco to use or avoid?
Thanks in advance!
1 AnswerSan Francisco1 decade agoWhale watching tours in San Francisco--Fun or Misery?
I'm planning a family trip to San Francisco in June and was considering a whale watching tour. However, the online reviews are a mixture of "great time" and "everyone was throwing up and the crew was rude".
I'm looking for some honest reviews from people that have done one of these trips recently. Also, since it looks like there are several companies that offer these trips, please include the name of which one you toured with.
Thanks in advance for your help, and thanks to all the others who have answered my previous San Francisco questions while I've been planning this trip. All the advice has been fantastic!
5 AnswersSan Francisco1 decade agoNeed recommendations for some interesting restaurants in San Francisco for a family vacation.?
I'm trying to find some "must eat at" local restaurants (no chains, please) to try on our family vacation in June. Places where we can dress casually and keep an 8 year old happy and fed are preferred. I'm also interested in any local specialty food items that we should make sure to try (like eating lobsters in Maine, etc.). Thanks in advance!!
3 AnswersSan Francisco1 decade agoAny laundromats in San Francisco Union Square area?
Planning a vacation in summer and will be staying in hotel without laundry facilities. (don't want to pay high price for hotel laundry service) We'll be on 2 week trip and don't want to have to pack a ton of clothes and would like to be able to do laundry once or twice. Thanks in advance for your answers.
2 AnswersSan Francisco1 decade agoVacation planning tips for San Francisco in June?
I'm planning a family vacation (kids age 16 & 8) to San Francisco next June. I'd appreciate any suggestions for things to do and see and good hotels, especially those near public transportation in case we don't rent a car. Any advice or things not to miss or definitely to avoid? Probably also going to try to see Yosemite for part of the trip. We're from Texas and this would be first trip to CA. Thanks in advance!
5 AnswersSan Francisco1 decade agoNeed restaurant near Municipal Auditorium in San Antonio?
I'm going to a show at Municipal Auditorium and would like to eat before the show but I'd prefer to only have to park once. Does anyone know of a good place for dinner (no fast food please) within walking distance of Municipal Auditorium? Hotel restaurants are fine. I've never been to Municipal Auditorium but I'm thinking that many River Walk restaurants may be too far to walk in 100 degree heat.
1 AnswerSan Antonio1 decade agoWhat type of gas stations are there in northern Arizona?
I'm planning a trip to the northern part of AZ, including the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley. Could someone please tell me what gas station companies are popular in that part of the state (Exxon, Chevron, etc.)?
Also, any travel advice to this region is greatly appreciated.
