How to procure an apartment in Vancouver...from Toronto?
Hey, I'm in the process of moving from Toronto to Vancouver. Can anyone tell me what I should expect when trying to get someone to rent to me from all the way over here? I'd like to have the arrangements made for when I get there, so I can move in immediately. Is that likely, or should I expect to stay in a hotel?

My cat pooped on the floor outside his litterbox, so, since he dislikes vacuums, I chased him around the bedroom with a vacuum cleaner. Are we even? Do you think I got the point across?
5 AnswersCats10 years agoHowling at coyotes; good idea?
I was walking through the forest one night, when I suddenly heard coyotes howling off in the distance, so I howled back at them to attempt to establish my territory and keep them away. Did I send them the right message?
4 AnswersOther - Outdoor Recreation10 years agoHow much trouble would one be in for bear-spraying a human in self-defence in Canada?
I live in Ontario, Canada, where we aren't allowed to carry pepper spray, but we CAN carry 'bear spray,' which is more or less the same thing with a different label.
My girlfriend is, understably considering the neighbourhood, concerned about being assaulted during her nightly walk home. I am considering getting her some bear spray to hang onto.
If she was assaulted by somebody, and she sprayed that somebody with bear spray in order to escape, would the law protect her?
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics10 years agoNintendo Wii/DS/3DS registration codes to spare?
I've had my eye on one of the items on Nintendo.com's prize list for awhile, but I still don't have enough points to buy it, and my points are going to expire soon.
These points are earned by getting an account and registering your Nintendo games on their website. I'm about 7 games away from being able to afford it.
If you haven't registered your games, and have no intention of doing so, would you be so kind as to give them to me to use instead? :)
The codes are found on one of the leaflets that come with your game.

I was just thinking about those glass boxes you put your change into when you get on a bus or subway. Say the fare is 2 bucks. If u put in a 2 dollar coin, then sure they can see it's 2 dollars, but what if you dropped in a handful of small change that wasn't quite 2 dollars? Do they have a way to tell you short changed them? This especially applies during busy periods when people are dropping coins in one after the other.
1 AnswerCommuting1 decade agoWearing military attire?
I used to be in the Canadian Forces, and now I'm not. When I left, I got to keep a bunch of my formal wear, including my beret w/ badge.
Now, I'm creating a new look for myself, and realized that my beret would be an excellent addition to the style. However, I don't know if I'm allowed to wear it. I did earn the beret and badge myself, but although it's a uniform item, they didn't ask for it back when I left.
Am I allowed to wear my beret even though I am now a civilian?
I'm considering just taking the badge off and wearing it plain.

If one was to dress up in a very convincing Taliban outfit on Halloween and start knocking on people's doors yelling "TRICK OR TREAT!" would that person be able to get away with it?

Bonus points if it's LEGAL.
11 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoMy waffles always come out too soft...?
Whenever I make waffles with a waffle iron, they lack the crispiness of the store-bought kind. Is there something I should be putting in them to get them crispier? Or perhaps it has to do with the cooking method...

4 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits1 decade agoCell phone battery sometimes drains really fast?
So there are some places in my house where, if i leave my cell phone sitting there, the battery will drain in a matter of hours, even if it was full. I had no idea how it happens, so I've just resorted to putting my cell phone somewhere else.
It just happened to again. My cell phone, which was near fully charged last night, has just died completely, and I noticed I had left it laying on my army tags overnight.
Is it possible that proximity to metal objects could cause my cell phone battery to lose its juice faster?

A few years back, they found an unexplored patch of forest or something somewhere that ended up being home to a bunch of undiscovered animal species. It was fairly big news, but I somehow have no further information about it.
Does anybody know what this place is called, or where it is, or even what i'm referring to?
