What has Sarah Palin done for the state of Alaska?
A new face in politics? I'd like to know what she believes in, what kind of decisions will she make if she ends up our President, and what has she done for her state of Alaska?
I found these things - can you give me more?
20 AnswersElections1 decade agoIf Palin is no friend of the environment, animals or the ecosystem, what will she do to the other 49 states?
Under Palin, Alaska sued the U.S. government to stop the listing of the polar bear as a threatened species. She supports big oil, the drilling in the Artic National Wildlife Refuge and Pebble Mine which will release toxins and destroy the ecosystem of the Bristol Bay watershed. If she is willing to 'rape and pillage' the natural beauty, resources and wildlife of Alaska, what effect will she have on the other 49 states if they get into office?

11 AnswersElections1 decade agoIs it normal for losing candidate to expect winner to bail them out of debt?
The Clintons expect Obama to help them pay their 20 million dollar debt from campaigning. Is this normal? Did the republicans do that? Did McCain campaign to pay off Mitt Romney's debt?
I think it odd, perhaps quite "bold" for the Clintons to expect Obama to help them out. Has this action happened before in previous elections?
3 AnswersElections1 decade agoCan someone explain to me why Hillary supporters are so hateful of Obama?
He has over and over again complimented her and never brought up any issues from her past. There are certainly a long list of Clinton sins he could have used as mud slinging, but he did not.
He always was gracious enough to congratulate her when she wons states. She rarely did him.
Even when she made a reference that she was staying in the race because he might just be assassinated like Robert Kennedy, he made excuses for her and didn't react.
http://www.boston.com/news/politics/politicalintel...
So why so Clinton supporters hate him so much? He has treated her with respect when she bashed him every chance she could.
39 AnswersElections1 decade agoAre people overreacting to Hillary's reasons why she should stay in the race?
Today she was talking about reasons why she should stay in the race - "We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California."
http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Hillary_Video_Re...
What was she thinking? "You never know what might happen to the OTHER democratic nominee.... SOMEONE might get knocked off and then I'll be the ONLY nominee."
Are we all overreacting?
8 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy did Rev Wright decide to make speeches at a time when Obama might have liked silence?
This didn't make any sense to me. If Obama and Rev Wright are supposedly so tight, why would he betray Obama by going public with MORE speeches taking up HOURS of air time on the 3 major TV stations? Or was he "set up" by a Clinton supporter? According to LA Times, the person who arranged for Wright to speak at the National Press Club was Barbara Reynolds a solid Clinton supporter. Sound fishy??

7 AnswersMedia & Journalism1 decade agoWill $30 buy your Presidential vote?
John McCain and Hillary Clinton are fighting for us. They propose a gas tax summer vacation, which is going to save us about $30. Will you vote for either of them now that you see how much they care about you and I ? Is this going to solve our dependence on oil? And do you care about the effects of not collecting the tax for the summer? (300,000 less jobs and no fixes for crumbling roads. ) Thanks for your input.
15 AnswersElections1 decade agoWill voters vote for Hillary Clinton even if they don't trust her?
Polls show only 39% think Hillary is trustworthy and that's because they don't know the whole truth...
according to http://www.judicialwatch.org/hrccomplaint
"In the last 10 years, Hillary Clinton is among the most corrupt politicians in our nation’s history. She devised a scheme to sell taxpayer financed trade missions to Communist China in exchange for campaign contributions. She presided over the theft of the private FBI files of former Reagan and Bush staffers....conspired to defraud the U.S. Senate and the Federal Election Commission (FEC) by failing to report the true cost of a $2 million Hollywood campaign fundraising event ..." and more.
How could she win any election when people don't trust her? Will YOU vote for someone you don't trust? Is it because you are a woman and want a women in office even if you know we cannot trust her?
Will she be able to gain the trust of foreign leaders?
20 AnswersElections1 decade agoWas the ABC debate the other night a joke?
What an insult to American intelligence! Was that whole thing just a joke? Did ABC actually think that was a "debate" over policies? What a waste of time. Anyone agree?
10 AnswersCivic Participation1 decade agoAre you bitter?
I'm tired of hearing how insulting Sen Obama's comments were. Enough already! Truth of the matter is, I think he's right about lots of people being "bitter". Perhaps he didn't say it as well as he should have, but I'm not sure he's so wrong.
What do you say? Are you bitter? I am - there hasn't been anyone in the White House for us middle class schlumps in 20 years. We pay more more and more just to feed our kids and keep the modest roof over our heads, not to mention GAS to get to work, while the rich get obscenely richer.
12 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoShould we believe anything that Hillary Clinton says?
I've read many incidents a whole lot more pertinent than simply exaggerating sniper bullets in Bosnia that indicates she has a pattern of behavior of being deceitful starting from the beginning of her career. Please read this and tell me if we should believe anything she claims she is going to do for us?

11 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhat are the dangers of allowing corporations to have patents on "life", DNA, and genes?
The patent laws have been interpreted to allow for the patenting of life:
http://www.actionbioscience.org/genomic/crg.html
including life such as seeds, plants, organisms, animals, and human genes
http://www.twnside.org.sg/title/trips99-cn.htm
As of 2007, 20 percent of the genes that make up human DNA are patented.
http://people.howstuffworks.com/life-patent.htm
This seems a bit unnatural to me. Why would the patent office allow such a thing? Isn't this a danger to the ecosystem and to humanity?

5 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoDemocrats - Bill Clinton says you will vote for either Hillary or Sen. Obama, is this tru?
He is trying to say that is Hillary is the nominee, then all those Obama supporters will then vote for Hillary in the Presidental race (rather than McCain). Do you agree?
I am an Obama supporter and I would NOT vote for Hillary if she wins the nomination, I would vote for McCain.
You?
10 AnswersElections1 decade agoDo farmers that grow GE or GMO (genetically engineered) crops know about the hazards?
Monsanto has patents on seeds whose DNA they have modified. These genetically modified crops are destroying the ecosystem, producing foods that are giving us cancer, reproductive problems, allergies, resistance to antibiotics, and liver dysfunction as well as poisoning the soil. GE crops kill monarch butterflies, earthworms, bees, cows and chickens who graze in the ROUND UP fields, and will cross-mixed with "normal" plants in the environment thus eliminated natural plants. Monsanto sues (and wins) farmers who try to use the seeds from their produce of the patented seeds! TIn order to protect their patent, they have developed seeds that now are NOT CAPABLE of reproducing themselves forcing farmers to buy seeds from Monsanto each year.

1 AnswerBotany1 decade agoWill the next phase of war in Iraq will be to destroy the food supply?
The corporate giant Monsanto, has patented their genetically engineered seeds. The safety of GMOs were never tested adequately for it's effects on humans or the eco-system. As a result, more and more crops are GMOs, more ROUND UP must be used, the DNA of our food has been modified and is causing allergies, resistance to antibiotics, liver damage, digestive system health issues such as cancer of the stomach and colon and more. The taste and nutritional value of our food has also been degregated. And organisms are dying - good bacteria, monarch butterflies, and the bees that are drawn to the poison pollen. After crops are sprayed with ROUND UP, cows and chickens will become ill and die if they eat the GMO crops and people get very ill.
Not to mention the financial devastation from patents preventing them from reusing seeds & the need for huge amounts of ROUND UP.
Is this part of "mission accomplished"?

Rezko is nothing compared to all the criminal friends that the Clintons has associated with for the past 35 years. Do you think that the Obama campaign (and later McCain) should start freshing the memory of the American people? Do we really want to go back to the 90's?

10 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhy wouldn't someone refuse to release papers if they had nothing to hide?
The question of Hillary Clinton releasing her tax records brings up another more important question, why not? If you are trying to portray that your are being honest with the American people, why not prove it by your actions?
Why did she hide the Rose Law firm records for 2 years? So they could be "cleaned up"?
http://www.hillaryproject.com/index.php?/wiki/Bill...
Why won't she ask Bill to release documents about where the donations for the Clinton library came from? Among the entities who have been reported to have given more than $1 million toward the presidentical center: the governments of Dubai, Kuwait, and Qatar; the Saudi royal family; a deputy prime minister of Lebanon - how many donations they don't want us to know?
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2007/09/cl...
I understand that after Watergate presidential candidates have shown tax records as a show of honesty to the public.
Will Hillary be a secretive president?
