I have been using the 64 bit version of Fedora 9 for a while now. There are several things that annoy me, however. Sun has not made a 64 bit java plugin and I run web apps that require the real Sun java fairly often. Also, ATI has yet to release a radeon driver update for linux kernel 2.6.25 that works with 64 bit systems. These issues, as well as several minor ones, get on my nerves fairly often while using my system. I have a Toshiba Satellite A215-S4807 with 2gb of ram. I'm wondering if it would be worth my 'downgrading' to the 32 bit version of Fedora. Will I see a loss in performance? Is it worth it?

I've been using Linux for a while now and know my way around. I've recently tried OpenSUSE, Kubuntu, Fedora 9 (with both Gnome and KDE), Gentoo, and Ubuntu. I prefer the Gnome desktop environment over KDE and am using a laptop with a 64 bit processor. I'm currently using Ubuntu 8.04 but am getting bored of how easy and simple it is to use. I really like Fedora, but version 9 has problems on my laptop. If you could give me any advice on your favorite distro, or one that you think I may like, that'd be great. Thank You!

Is there some sort of "downgrade" type option or do I have to wipe my hard drive and start over. I'd rather not lose my documents, but none of them are extremely important.

On most sites, when you try to navigate to a missing page, you are sent to a page that tells you. How would I add that to my site?

I have a page on my website where I use a javascript when a link is clicked to make sure a checkbox is checked before moving on. This code:

works great in Opera and IE, but not in Firefox. Can anyone help me?

I made a standalone application and I need a program that will allow me to create an installer for it. I've found plenty on the internet, but I need one that will allow my program to auto-update from my server. Can anyone help with this?

I am programming a small, simple game on my calculator. I was wondering how I could display enemies moving from right to left while the user can still move the main character. I know how to make the enemies move and how to make the main character move, but not at the same time. The calculator seems to be able to either run the code for the main character or the enemies, but not both at the same time.

If you drop a pencil toward the Earth, the Earth moves to the pencil and the pencil moves towards the Earth. I have been asked to find the force of the pencil on Earth and the Earth on the pencil. I must also find the acceleration of the pencil and the Earth. I haven't been able to figure it out. Please name sources, I have to give them. If you can't find it, any help or advice would be great. I have Windows Vista Home Premium and accidentally set Windows Mail to group messages with the same title. I'm not sure how I did it, but I'd like to undo it. They are not grouped as they would be if you pressed "sort by subject," but have little plus and minus icons next to the first message to show and expand the group.

Is there any type of ad, like Google AdSense, that would allow my nephew (under 18) to put their ads on his site? We tried AdSense, but, even though we signed up for it in my name, they won't make payments to my nephew.

I have a Toshiba laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium. I had a sticky key and they made me send it back for repair. They created an admisitrative account while they had it and, no matter what account I'm on, I am not given the option to delete it under the Control Panel but I am for all of my other accounts. How can I delete it?

I got a live cd of Ubuntu and decided to install it. When I went to restart my computer into Vista, it won't start. All I see is the black screen with the _ on it in the top right corner. Did Ubuntu delete vista? how can I fix this?

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium. I uninstalled some of the bundled software that came with my computer. After uninstalling one of the programs, I went to take the shortcut off the desktop and it won't let me put it in the recycle bin. It says the file can't be found. Why won't it let me delete a shortcut to a file that isn't on my computer anymore? Can someone please tell me how to delete it?
