  • Birmingham or Liverpool for Shopping?

So I have the rest of the week off work and I was thinking about doing some shopping. Thing is I can't think of where to go, I live in Nottingham but I want to adventure out and go somewhere different. I have been to both places before but not for a long time and I have not been to Liverpool since Liverpool ONE has opened. What do you people recommend as the best location for shopping?

  • Diana Wynne Jones question?

Is Diana Wynne Jones a children's author? I want to read Howl's Moving Castle by her but after watching the anime film of this book I am kind of worried it might be a little to childish for me. I am currently reading 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' which is a really adult book which I like but I am hoping that this is just a normal fantasy book and nothing i would get bored of easily

  • Best way of learning Swedish without classes?

I am really interested in learning Swedish as I plan on moving there when I have the money. I don't really fancy attending a class as I don't think there are any where in live and i've never liked the classroom experience. I read alot so I would be interested in study books but I want to be able to read, write and speak Swedish.

What is the best option out there? and are they cheep?

  • Who are some good Swedish/Scandinavian writers?

I have just finished reading Henning Mankell's Joel Gustafson series. Although this series of books is aimed at teens I found it interesting and continued with it through the whole series. I am now reading "The girl with the dragon tattoo" by Steig Larsson and I am very much enjoying that. Is there any other Swedish/Scandinavian authors that are good. I don't really mind what type of genre that they write in as I read a wide variety of books and I am interested in lots of different subjects.

  • Does anyone know the name of this children's book?

When I was in my early school years (about 7-8 years old) I remember reading a book about a magical tree. From what I remember two children knew about this tree and they used to climb up it and there used to be different things on each of the branches. I am sorry that i can't be more preise but it was about 16-17 years ago. I just wondered if anyone knew its name as I remember really enjoying the book and I might read it again so see if it has stood the test of time. any help would be amazing, thanks

  • Where can I find NICE black wallpaper?

I am wanting to redecorate my bedroom and I have a rough idea in my head but I want an accent wall with some wallpaper on it. My idea is to have some patterned black wallpaper and then contrast it will the other walls in white. Thing is all I can find for black wallpaper has flowers or "feminine" styles to it. I am a 23 yr old guy, I don't want flowers. I want something clean, arty and not to overpowering as even though its an accent wall I want the art that I am planning to hang there to stand out more

I hope you can understand what I am looking for and can help me out

    Thanks

  • Mobile broadband deals? Who is best? o2 or Vodafone?

I am looking at getting a pay as you get mobile broadband dongle for my laptop as I am photographer and software developer and I would like to be able to get online anywhere. I don't want a contract as I already have one with my iPhone and i don't think i would use it enough to warrant the extra monthly fee. The 2 deals I am looking at is Vodafone and o2. Vodafone seem better as the data can be used at anytime and i only pay when I need more, the downside it that it currently doesn't work with mac's at this moment in time. On the other hand o2 does work in OS X but the prices arn't good. £2 for 500mb, seems fine but it only lasts a day. Other options are £7.50 for 7 days and £15 for 30 days.

Anybody used any of these products? I am thinking about the o2 dongle but I really like the pricing plan with Vodafone.... Hmmm what to do

  • Which D-SLR bag is better?

I can't make my mind up on which bag to get for my Sony D-SLR at the moment it is down to KATA 3N1 Slingpack or Lowepro Fastpack 250. I am looking for one that can hold my camera (Sony alpha a200), notebook (13.3 MacBook) and my lenses (I have the standard 18-70mm and a 75-300 telephoto lens at the moment), flash gun, filters, memory cards and some other bits and pieces

Right now they both seem to fit the bill but I want to know what people who have tried and tested these products think

  • Idea's for an Asian cooking website?

I am currently thinking about doing a new project. I have decided about doing it about one of my loves which is Asian food. I want to make it a web 2.0 style site which I think I should be able to do. I like to learn new things in everything i do so this will be a massive learning experience.

When it comes to what I want in the site I am a little stuck on. Of course I want to make it easy to use but I want it to be feature rich. Is there anything that you guys/girls would like to see that possibly you don't normally see in cooking sites. At the moment I have planned a rating system, user submitted photo displays for each dish. Video (depending on server and money issues). Comment system and an option for users to add in optional changes to the original menu

  • Tattoo design quotation question?

A friend of mine has asked me if i can design him 3 tattoo's. First one is a half sleeve, Second is a 'celtic band' to go round his other arm and the third is some Roman pillars to go round a previous tattoo of his name (strange thing to have I know). Thing is I don't know what to charge. I have designed tattoo's but normally for myself or just for fun as I like that kind of art.

Anyone got any idea's on what i can charge (I live in the UK so in pounds would help or I can convert dollars), Would you charge for each individual tattoo or for the whole collection?
