I am an 19 year old introverted, nerdy nice guy. I enjoy studying and reading, video games, playing piano, watching baseball and any and all movies and all that other leisure stuff. I like to consider myself a nice guy who can get along with most people, which makes most people not like me. I do not drink, do drugs, smoke or go around having sex, so if you are on of those people please don't write to me, nothing against you, just don't want to hear the criticism and "Why not?"comments from anyone else right now. Currently a full time college student going for my four year accounting degree and CPA certification. I find about me's to be a real displeasure to fill out, so if you want to chat just send me an Email. No creepy stuff please,yes that means you online pedophile stalkers. Everyone else feel free to just send me a hello :D Ryan's profile is subject to change without notice. All Rights Reserved. Results May Vary.
How to find points on a graph when given this?
Find the point/s on the graph of y = (2x^4 + 1)(x - 5) where the slope of the tangent line is 1. The points are ordered pairs.
I did the Product rule which gave me (2x^4 + 1)(1) + (x - 5)(8x)
Is this right? If not what do I do? Where do I go from here?
1 AnswerMathematics7 years agoWhat rule/s to use for this function?
Have to differentiate this function, not sure where to start because of the powers on the outside:
y = x^7(3x^4 + 12x - 1)^2
1 AnswerMathematics7 years agoCheck my work please, how to simplify this differentiated function?
Differentiate the following function:
y=( x / (x^2 + 1))^2
I did:
y'= 2(x/(x^2+1) ((x^2+1)(1) - (x)(2x) / ((x^2+1)^2)
y' = 2(x / (x^2+1)) ((x^2+1-2x^2) / ((x^2+1)^2)
Now to simplify this, do I cancel out the (x^2+1) in the second term in the parenthesis? Not sure where to go from here to simplify this down..any help would be really appreciated!
1 AnswerMathematics7 years agoUsing logarithmic differentiation?
How would I use logarithmic differentiation to find the derivative of this function?
y= (2x+1)^2(x+3)^3
1 AnswerMathematics7 years agoHow to find absolute extrema of this function?
Not asking for anyone to do whole problem as I have no idea how long this will be to find, just no idea where to start or what to do..
Let g(t) = (2t-1)e^(-1) be a function
1) Find the absolute extrema of g(t) on the interval [0,Infinity)
Any advice or where to go from there would be really appreciated, thank you.
2 AnswersMathematics7 years agoImplicit differentiation question?
Using implicit differentiation how would I find dy/dx for xy - e^(xy) = 7
Never done one of these with using an exponential function e. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
2 AnswersMathematics7 years agoDerivative, where to go from here!?
Have to find first and second derivative:
Started with:
f(x) = (ln(x)) / (1+e^x)
Used quotient rule and got:
[(1+e^x)1/x - ln(x)(e^x)] / (1+e^x)^2
Just need the next step, not the whole problem. Just not sure where to go from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
2 AnswersMathematics7 years agoHow to solve this derivative?
Have to find the first two derivatives of this, but don't remember how to do that with ln
f(x) = (ln(x)) / (1 + e^x)
Thank you!
2 AnswersMathematics7 years agoHow to simplify this?
Just want to check my answer on this:
Simplify: f "(x) = 6 [e^(4x) • (1/2)(1+e^4x)^(-1/2)(e^4x)(4) + (4e^(4x)) • (1+e^4x)^(1/2))
Thanks!
1 AnswerMathematics7 years agoAnother first and second derivative problem?
This group of problems has fractions on the outside, stumped again..
f(x) = (1+e^4x)^3/2
Have to find first and second derivative
2 AnswersMathematics7 years agoDerivatives of this function?
Have to find the first and second derivative of this but the subtraction in the exponent is really stumping me on this one:
f(x) = xe^2x-1
3 AnswersMathematics7 years agoHow to find this first + second derivative?
Stuck on this practice problem, forget the steps when the ln is thrown in there.
f(x) = √e^x ln(x)
The ln(x) is NOT under the square root sign.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated and helpful!
1 AnswerMathematics7 years agoDerivative math problem help?
Can't for the life of me figure this one out, think I'm missing something simple. Just need to find first and second derivative of this equation, pretty sure I am using the Power Rule for this one.
f(x) = 2x(2x+1)^5
Thanks for any help you can provide!
2 AnswersMathematics7 years agoPsychological problem I think, can't stop thinking about death?
To keep things short and direct, I am having a horrible time operating normally lately as I cannot stop thinking about getting older, dying, and those around me developing health problems and getting older. At first I thought it was normal and everyone goes through this, but now I cannot get very troubling and scary thoughts out of my head. It has become a very large problem and has crippled me in a lot of ways, making normal living very hard.
I wanted to know if there is anything I should do about this. I am already going to a doctor and on medication for social anxiety disorder, and am on an antidepressant though I do not know if this is relevant or having any kind of effect on my other problem. I just want to get back to the way I was when I approached death and aging in a much lighter and happier fashion. Should I go to a doctor, wait it out, or something else? I really do not know what to do about this obsession and constant worrying, as it is really bothering me now.

4 AnswersMental Health9 years agoPartisanship in America Essay Question?
I am writing an essay for an American Political Government class and could use some help and a few ideas. My topic is partisanship in America, and whether it is a good or a bad thing. I also need to explain what recent presidents have done to enhance or eliminate partisanship in recent years, and if their actions during office were different than when they were campaigning.
Any opinions or ideas you have on the subject will help, as I know very little on this issue. I am mainly looking for any websites or reading material that focuses on the subject (Unbiased would be nice)
Also I am allowed to ask for help, so I'm not cheating, not asking for anyone to write the essay for me, just need some good topics to cover :D
Thanks for any help you can provide!
4 AnswersPolitics9 years agoIs this animal abuse/What should I do about it?
Hi, we have a neighbor across the street that has been leaving her dog outside all day, every day. I feel so bad about it as I can hear him barking all day and night, and it is not easy to sleep when you hear a dog barking all night. I don't blame the dog nor am I mad at it, completely the owners fault, I just don't know what I should do.
He is outside from 6am till about 10-11pm. They tie him to a tree with about 6-7 feet of rope with a food and water bowl, though sometimes his rope gets tangled and he can't get to them. He seems really lonely as when the neighbors gets home he gets so excited and jumps ups and down, but they just scream and swear at him to shut up and they go inside. I don't know if this borders on animal abuse but I really want to help this dog, but don't know if I have any real legal action.
I'm pretty scared that if I do get the dog removed, they will just put him to sleep, and that is not what I want to happen (Though I don't know how happy his life is now, he seems really miserable)
So what should I/can I do? Who do I report this to if anyone? What will happen to the dog if they remove him?
Thanks for any help you can provide. I will check back and add details to the questions if any information is missing.
9 AnswersDogs9 years agoRoosevelt's Second Bill of Rights?
Roosevelt proposed a Second Bill of Rights which he referred to as the "economic bill of rights". My question is, what happened to this proposal? Did any of it at all get passed? Who rejected it and why? What were the arguments for and against it?
2 AnswersGovernment9 years agoWhat is the purpose of an audit?
Doing a practice accounting exam and want to double check my work. The question is about the definition of an audit, however the book doesn't mention an audit at all so can't really check my work.
Question: The purpose of an audit is to..
Answers:
a) determine whether or not a company is a good investment
b) render an opinion on the fairness of the statements
c) determine whether or not a company complies with income tax regulations
d) determine whether or not a company is a good credit risk
I know almost nothing about audits as we have not covered them yet, and there is no mention of them in the book so I am at a loss. My guess was C but the word "opinion" got me concerned.
Thanks for any and all help you can provide!
