  • Need relationship help?

I've been friends with this woman for a number of months now. She's been going through a very tough time (serious medical and divorce issues) and began using me as a sounding board. I obliged and we've become more friendly as time has passed. We've shared a lot of ourselves (stories of youth, parents, etc.) with each other, as friends. She seems to trust me implicitly. I began to like this woman as more than a friend, yet did not feel it appropriate for me to further complicate her life more than it was. I decided to just be a caring friend. Then she asked me out on a date. Things went well, but now I don't hear from her. She has to know that I care for her as more than a friend, yet I never pushed for more. I think that there is also another person she cares for yet I don't know the extent of that relationship. I have called 2x and text 2x only over a span of nearly 2 weeks, and no response. There was a fun yet unrelated posting by her on my Facebook page a couple of days ago, yet no other contact.

Is she scared to talk to me? I want to help her through her problems, either as friend or more. Yet I don't want to seem overly eager or pushy.

I've asked a few friends for input but can't seem to get a consensus on what to do. Therefore, why not the public at large!!! Thanks for your time.

  • What are the best sneakers/athletic shoes for someone with ankle problems?

I have broken my ankles numerous times, and am due to have ankle reconstruction in 3 weeks. I am looking for a pair sneakers that are constructed to support ankles. And I am not looking for hi-tops.....I know that's a safe choice. But I am looking for cross trainers. Thanks.

BTW.........someone suggested the New Balance 854. Any feedback?

  • Should I change my dog's food?

Over the Thanksgiving holiday, I visited family and brought my 14 month old puppy along. She has aIways been a fickle eater and at times to skinny for my liking. I've been able to coax her to eat more by adding yogurt to her kibble. I feed her Merrick, which I know is a high quality dry food. But when we got to my parent's house for the holiday, she really seemed to like the Chicken Soup for Puppy Lover's Soul that my Mom's puppy eats more than the Merrick. I didn't mix the foods to get her stomach acclamated, she just went right to it. Should I stick with what she's had or should I just go right ahead and make the switch? Or maybe should I mix the two for awhile? Thanks for your input.

  • I have been in Judo for about a year now. Is it the right martial art for me?

I am a large guy. Built like a truck. I began with Judo as a way to get myself in shape mentally as well as physically while dealing with immense stressors. A close friend of my father is a Hachidan, so it made it a simple choice to join him in his workouts and meditation. Anyway, while I enjoy it very much, I am not sure if it's what's best for me. I was a heavyweight wrestler and football player in high school. I have always been very strong. Since judo is often about using momentum of the opponent to your advantage, I don't often have the opportunity to use my strength to my advantage. Should I switch to another art? Should I crosstrain in another art? Thanks for your input.

  • Why are people in the South such horrible drivers?

I just moved from the Northeast and I get extremely frustrated at the lack of attention paid to, 1) moving over for faster traffic; 2) maintaining a decent speed so as not to create problems for other drivers. It's horrible.

  • Is this the way to solve the immigration problem?

I got this chain email this AM. Not realistic, but clever nonetheless. Wouldn't it be great if this did happen?

    "Win-Win-Win Situation"

Everyone concentrates on the problems we're having in this country lately; illegal immigration, hurricane recovery, wild animals attacking humans in Florida.

Not me. I concentrate on solutions to problems. The result is a win-win-win situation:

+ Dig a moat the length of the Mexican border

+ Use the dirt to raise the levies in New Orleans

+ Put the Florida alligators in the moat.

Any other problems you would like for me to solve today?!

  • What's the best way to train a puppy to "come"?

She knows "sit", "paw" and some other simple commands, but when we say "come" she refuses. Usually it's when we are asking her to come back inside that she refuses. Instead she usually turns and looks at me, then runs back out into the yard.
