At what point do you start to feel sorry for the other team?
I was watching Iowa vs. Syracuse last night. I'm happy that Iowa trounced Syracuse, but I felt just a little bit sorry that Syracuse lost as badly as they did. I was just wondering at what point people start to feel badly for the opposing team and hope they score just so the thing just isn't so one sided?

Does the President actually think that his little surprise visit to Iraq will actually change anything in that country? Does he actually think that using our troops for more photo ops will make people reconsider their positions on Iraq?
8 AnswersCurrent Events1 decade agoWhat may be causing my back pain?
Over the past several days, I've had a lot of back pain. I've had back problems off and on since childhood, but it's getting pretty bad as of late.
On a scale of 1 (low) to 10 (high) it's pretty much a 5 all the time and goes up to 8 at times. It's centered in the lower back but radiates all the way up to my shoulders and down in to my legs. It's hard to walk at times.
I'm curious as to what might be causing this. Is it just muscle strain like before, or something else at work - such as a problem with a disk?

There was a thing on NPR last night about the challenges of writing an obituary or giving an eulogy for someone who was mean in life. I was wondering how people would handle that challenge?

Just these latest statements about Alberto Gonzales lead me to wonder if the President is seeing the same reality that most other people do or not.
9 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhere does Bush get off invoking Vietnam to justify his Iraq war?
I want to know where he gets off invoking Vietnam to justify his war in Iraq? This from a guy who went out of his way to avoid having to actually serve his country in Vietnam, and who got daddy's friends to pull strings to keep him from anything other than a cushy state side post.

Why is Karl Rove so obsessed with Hillary? Is it because he has such a strong dislike of her and Bill? Or is it something more stomach churning?

10 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoIf great American leaders came back to life & criticized the Iraq war, what would the Republicans say?
By great American leaders, I'm referring to guys like Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, Adams, Lincoln, both Roosevelts, Eisenhower, Truman, and Kennedy.
Would the Republicans listen to such words of wisdom from such men? Would they actually listen to any concerns that they had? Or would they accuse these guys of all siding with terrorists. Would they call these guys all sorts of vile names? Would they start spouting stuff like fight them there or here?
14 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoHave Republicans ever heard of Luke chapter 6 or Matthew chapter 7?
Specifically verses verses 37-42 of Luke chapter 6, or verses 1-5 of Matthew chapter 7.
They're both about people not judging others and avoiding the desire to point out specks in other people's eyes while ignoring the California redwoods in ones own eyes.
Reading through a lot of the questions Republicans have put up, I wonder if any of them have ever heard of these biblical passages or not?
8 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoHow do all the Republicans in Congress manage to fit in the House and Senate with logs in their eyes?
I mean, they all pretty much have giant California redwoods sticking out of their eyes, so multiply that by a couple hundred Republicans in the House, and 49 in the Senate there must not be room for anyone or anything else.

Both walk around with their noses so up in the air at everyone else who doesn't subscribe to their narrow view. As far up as their noses are in the air, how do they keep from bumping into people or tripping over everything?
