What's your favourite marinade recipe for beef or pork? Something with ingredients mostly on hand for someone who cooks fairly often?

Here's mine (so far), since I'm all for sharing :)

Apple Juice Marinade (For Chicken Or Pork)

Yield: 2 Cups

Ingredients

1 cup apple juice

1/2 c soy sauce

1/2 c honey

4 tbsp. lemon juice

1 tsp. garlic powder

1/2 tsp. dry mustard

1/2 tsp. ground ginger

Combine all ingredients. Marinade meat all day or over night.

Excellent for grilled pork chops.

We have a hedge of pyramidal Emerald Green Cedars (about 35 trees) which we planted 6 years ago and are now well rooted and thriving. While they have reached the minimum height I want them to be (there is no maximum), I would like them to fill in a bit faster between each other (at current rate I figure it will be another 3-5 years!). Before I go out and chop a few inches off the top with the hopes of accomplishing this, I thought I'd ask if anyone with experience has any warnings for me. I don't want to do anything that could kill them off!

I've always rented carpet cleaners and have never hired a professional to do it. What, if any, are the benefits of hiring the professionals, aside from saving time & sweat? Do they really do a better job?

I'd like to read an objective, well written Ghandi biography. Any recommendations?
