Understanding Copyrights - Help!?
I don't understand some aspects of copyrighting certain types of media. I guess the best way to explain it would be to give an example:
Say an artist draws a character from a movie or from a book and mass produces those images in prints, signs them, and then sells them at a convention or what-have-you.
How is this not infringing on copyrights of the ideas that he/she took from various media? Would they had to have purchased a license to do so? Is it because they are a single artist selling their own art rather than a company selling the art?
What if a company uses an image of someone's creation in a bulletin or on a business card? Would it then be an issue? Or does it not matter if it's large scale vs small scale?
1 AnswerLaw & Ethics1 decade agoIs there a level of education between a Bachelors Degree and a Masters Degree?
It's probably a dumb question.. but after you get a Bachelors, is there a degree in between that and a Masters? like a 2yr post-grad degree?
3 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoHelp! my dog is ripping out his fur! And I don't think it's an allergy?
My dog is RIPPING out his fur to chew on! I've heard that it may be an allergy that he's reacting to, but he doesn't itch at all nor has any activity or food plan changed for him in the past 3 years. I've noticed that he's been taking feathers out of our pillows to chew/play with around the same time he started ripping his fur out. This has been going on for about a week and last night it got so bad that made a patch of skin bleed pretty bad from ripping it out. It seems that he only rips out longer pieces of fur out. What the hell is he doing this for!? And what can I do to stop him from hurting himself?
Addition Info:
He's a 3yrold Male American Eskimo
I haven't done anything towards fixing the problem other than reprimanding him when he does it. And I've been considering shaving him down so his fur isn't long enough to tug at, but that would be a short-term quick fix.
11 AnswersDogs1 decade agoMy dog doesn't like treats or toys! What can I do for him?
I've recently adopted a timid and neglected 3yr dog. He's slowly coming out of his shell, but he seems so depressed all the time. I've tried to do some stimulating activities and rewarding him but he doesn't like treats other than chicken (which is expensive to treat him with all the time AND he doesn't even like it THAT much). He hates peanut butter and wont touch any other kind of treat. He doesn't play with toys (at least any kind that I've given him). The only thing he seems to like doing is burrowing and rolling around on my bed (which he also get bored of rather quickly). What can I do for him? I hate seeing him so bored and lethargic all the time :(
2 AnswersDogs1 decade agoMy electric company is asking for a faxed copy of my Social Security card and Photo ID?
Tampa electric company (TECO) is asking me for faxed copy o f social security card and photo ID to verify my account. To me, this sounds incredibly dangerous to do (for identity theft purposes). They said I mayNOT give it to them personally and it may only be done through fax. They already have my SS# (which I find sufficient enough, so why would they need a COPY of it??) and they have run a credit check with Equifax (who also made me give then a crap-load of information like the address of the past 4 residences I've lived at etc). I have yet to receive an electric bill for the 2 months I've been in my new apt. I need some advice on the situation. I don't want to get into any trouble with the law or harm my credit score by not paying the electric bill (which I have yet to receive), but I also don't want to give out my information like that. It just sounds WAY to sketchy.
1 AnswerOther - Business & Finance1 decade agoHow do you find online college courses?
I DONT need a degree online, I just want to take some course that my university doesn't offer..
I know that I would have to have the course approved by the school I'm attending.. but how do I go about finding the courses? I tried searching for some over the web but I just got confused on whether they were actual online courses or if they were actual classes that you attend..
(I'm looking for online courses about Zoology, Wildlife Ecology, or Animal Biology)
Thank you
