My employer is challenging my unemployment claim!!!?
After a year and a half at a dental office doing the front desk, I was fired after an important and influential patient cancelled his appt. by email, and I didn't see it before I left work the day before his appt. He sent it at 4:15 p.m., I left at 5:00 p.m., read it the day of his appt at 7 a.m. (his appt was supposed to be at 8). He had already confirmed his appt. by email earlier in the week, and at the last minute got confused and seeing I didn't answer his email, he didn't show up at his appt. the next day. My boss got very angry that I hadn't read my email before leaving for the day but I maintain the guy should have called because we were still open and he instead relied on email. I am sorry it happened, but I had no control over it, and he fired me that evening (he sent me home that morning and told me to think about what I wanted to do and he would think about what he wanted to do). He called me that evening and said he thought it best that I did not return as he felt he had to be more involved in administrative matters than he wanted to be, and it wasn't a good fit. I can accept all that because it wasn't a good fit. Well now that I've been unemployed for a month and been unable to find anything, I filed for unemployment and he's contesting it, saying I was not fired but let go for misconduct! I've never ever had anyone cast that kind of aspersion on me, and I'm livid, and now have to have a hearing with unemployment in Sept. before they decide if I'm eligible for unemployment. How do I handle this? I'm allowed to obtain legal representation for this hearing (done telephonically) and also allowed to have witnesses. Please help me: I can't afford an attorney and don't know what to do. This has really knocked the wind out of me.
6 AnswersAdministrative and Office Support1 decade agoI've liked very few jobs I've had and keep being let go, despite giving my all. Pls help me avoid a repeat.?
I've done retail work, at which I was very good and got promoted until I had my own store, but felt unfulfilled, so quit and went to secretarial school and college, and then became an admin. asst. to various top execs in the telecom arena (CEO's, CIO's and Presidents), then left that and became a dental assistant/front office manager. Please help me because I'm depressed, demoralized and feel like I can' t take many more new starts in my life. Although I give my best, I seem to be consistently misunderstood and misinterpreted, and I have lost all my joy.
1 AnswerMarketing & Sales1 decade agoHow do I get out of an abusive marriage? I'm tired of being verbally and mentally abused and am miserable. ?
Been married 17 years and can't take it anymore. He came home tonight and kicked a hole in the wall, screamed at me and scared our elderly diabetic cat. He is so depressed in life and miserable, but won't do anything to help himself. I want out but am dependent on him financially. If I won the lottery tomorrow, I'd be out tomorrow night. How can I get out of this and stay safe?
12 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoDoes anyone know of any organizations that donate funds for people who rescue cats?
We have an injured stray cat in our apt. complex who has been outside for years (about 4 yrs). He will let my husband pet him and really trusts him. He is fed regularly, but now he's injured his paw and desperately needs medical attention, but we cannot afford to have him operated on and all the associated costs. We'd love to give him a home and a good life, but we desperately need some financial help. We live in Virginia (northern). Pls. respond ASAP.
10 AnswersCats1 decade agoCan EMTs intubate their patients?
I always see doctors intubating patients, never EMTs or nurses. Does anyone know if in PA it is legal for an EMT to intubate a patient who has stopped breathing? I desperately need an answer quickly for a family member in a coma.
8 AnswersRespiratory Diseases1 decade agoI have been having very painful sexual intercourse. I need some advice from women who have the same problem.?
This started about 15 yrs. ago. I was treated for endometriosis, and have had two D&Cs, know I have ovarian cysts, but no gyn in FL, MD, VA or DC seem to be able to explain the cause/cure for this. If my vagina were clockface, from 6-12 pm is red, inflamed, and when my husband enters me, it feels like a knife is slicing into me. Steroids, painkillers, valium all have no effect. Our sex life has dwindled to zilch-I no longer get aroused, knowing the only outcome will be pain. It is not a lubrication issue. Can anyone at all help? The quality of our life as a couple has suffered tremendously, and even tho my husband is very supportive, he wishes our sex life were what it once was--great! Help me please!!
